When I worked there it took me 8 months to go through DV clearance (developed vetting) because I played poker. We were told that we shouldn't talk about who we worked for, where we were going and never ever sleep with russian or chiniese prossies.

No, I'm fine.  I know what I can and cannot say.  Everything is done retrospectively except when some douchebag comes in and says 'its xxxx' which has only happened once.  And I'm not in CT.

My DV is fine, much more threatened by my love of partying and going out till early hours.  But since I'm a lover and not a fighter I just run away from any brutes who offer me 'outside'.

I had a good guy for my interview last time, he had a friend who played poker (realising now how that 'sounds') but said he understood the rec side for some, the serious side for others and for the friends of herbie - how they just like to chuck it in and know that atc can win!


Currently chilling after having had a braai which is apparently what they call a BBQ here, although they take it a little more seriously here and if you ask them to do your meat anything other than medium-rare then they ask you to kindly leave and don't take the meat with you.  Its a little mafia like.

Luckily for us, some of the taxpayers money has to be spent on houses big enough to entertain dignitaries, but when not in official use they're sweet for house parties, braai's and a few bevereverevereveragges of the alcyholic nature.
