50/1 game at Gala, been playing pretty tight and villain knows this. We're effectively £120~ deep. No notes on villain except he's pretty ABC, seems capable of making decent calls sometimes but I showed him aces once earlier and I think he's the kind of player to now give me credit in future. Saw him go to showdown with one hand and that was a flopped wheel from the big blind where he check called a two hearts flop.

A bunch of limps to my big blind where I peel back the . Make it £8 and get three callers.

Flop (£35)

Villain leads for £25. We have two overs, backdoor nut flush draw and double gutshot draw, imo we can definitely rep an overpair by jamming here and we're beating bare flush draws anyway. Obv we have two players behind us, both playing just shy of £100. Reckon they're only sticking it in with 2pair+ anyways as they're pretty standard fishcakes.

Just move it in here?

Don't think I'm getting it in with much less than two pair here either, and if someone has got two pair+/ combo draw / made straight (which is far from out of the question) you are left with,,, a gutshot.

I think you need some fold equity for your jam, and 4 ways, you've not got it.

Which villain did the leading?

Edit: I'm going to stop taking part in these. Obviously it's the SB, since how else would he donk into you?.

Oh, and yes, I now realise you've got a double belly buster. Still don't like jamming though. If any of the other 3 players have got 2 pair, a combo draw, a set (hard) or if the original raiser has a flush draw, you're getting called and you are in pretty moderate shape.

I might just fold to be honest. It's 4 ways to the flop and we've got no pair and a crappy draw.

It depends on how loose you think the other 3 players are preflop. If they are the sort to play the mighty   , then I'd be more interested in doing something / thinking A high might be good against the small blind. Against players who are choosing which hands to play pre at all, a board of hits their limp calling range smack in the face- they've got jt, t9, 98, t8, j8s a lot.

Vs live players I'm not sure this will ever be 'bad' but its 100% whether you think he can fold a pair.

Giving you credit and folding are two different things.. The amount of time I've seen people say "oh you've probably got AA's again but I can't fold this.."

imo -
IF you're ever getting a fold here, then its a fist pump, call granny and tell her we're all going out for a pub roast this weekend shove..
IF you're not... then its marginal.  REALLY opp dependant.

But we do got a gutty and the - Its got some 'get there-ability!'

For the record Sean, what range do you assign him for leading? (I personally think  and similar a lot.. +obv not folding that..)

OH YH! double garry!!!!!!!!!!

I think a jam is a fine play. The only problem is the lack of exclusive equity (a queen is a card that would likely makes striaghts and 2p's, an ACE will complete some 2p's) Jamming is much preferable over calling though as we can clean some of this equity up by folding hands like QJ and maybe even 89.

plus it's fun to jam, and folding is often not as much fun
