Abstract? It's a nut & bolt in a lump of wood!

There's a washer there too.

Marginally more interesting.

Did you know that the "filter tips" for all UK manufactured cigarettes, & most European ones, too, are manufactured at Spondon in Derby?

The company used to be known as "British Celanese" but it was taken over later by Courtalds, it is probably called "Smoking Device Tar Extraction Systems PLC" or some bollox now.

It was founded in the first World War, financed by the Ministry of Defence, run by two brothers, the Dreyfus brothers, & they originally made aircraft paint, the company had been started in Switzerland or somewhere dreadful, & they were invited by the War Department to come across to England & assist the war effort. The Swiss, of course, were neutral. Ish.

If those chips of gravel could talk, I bet they could tell some stories. I have gravel in the drive, and I often pick a bit up and examine it individually. The colours, the texture, the shape..

Every one is different. Just imagine what they've been through.

I could get into geology. Seriously. I'd made a great rock-hound.

Heavily photoshopped as well to create the 'empty' effect.
