And if you were in a particularly odd mood you might have seen the same scene in a significantly different way

But then we might get into the realms of impressionism and  'artistic' representation - which might upset Tikay as obviously photography has absolutely nothing to do with art   Grin

Nearly all of the time I use any editing software for photo's it's to make them look more like how I saw the image to start with - and I can't see any argument for that being any more fake than if you just left it as the camera 'saw' it.

This!

It's only fake if you start adding stuff that wasn't actually there in the first place.

For me post processing photo's is a bit like auto-tune in music.

I don't think too many people regard using keyboards, electric guitars, etc as cheating, but as soon as you auto-tune someone who can't sing then it's a different matter.

Isn't auto-tune pretty much like Red's suggestion of adding something that wasn't there in the first place?

Which can be done with post processing - but isn't really what "we're" looking at using it for - musically it's more like if you had recording technology which added a hiss, you can use technology to take it away so it sounds more like the person did to start with (best analogy I could come up with Cheesy )
