The Red Arrows is my favourite. Jake and my Mrs had it printed on canvas for my Christmas prezzie. It's got so much movement and you can nearly feel the G force.

The vase is part of his A level studies and feels kind of moody and mourning. He is doing Maths and Phsysics so I think a bit of arty farty is a good release for him.

On this thread my favourites are the night shot of a back garden but the cooling towers are great too because when ever I see them I know it's about 26 minutes from poker heaven. Dusk till Dawn.

Some more photographs of the sky I took tonight.

Handheld picture of the moon in my usual Program shooting mode.  Note the reddish dot North-West of the Moon is Mars!

Zoomed in as far as I can to frame the Moon and Mars.

Now using a tripod, the Moon, no zoom.

Maximum 14x optical zoom

Maximum 14x optical zoom image above cropped to match the following image.

Maximum 14x optical zoom with maximum digital zoom taking it to 54x total.

I think the digital zoom image is far better than the optical zoom image cropped.

I also spotted Mercury but didn't get a photo and Saturn is up there visible to the naked eye also if you're looking at the right time in the right place.

So the Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Mercury, Venus and Saturn are all visible to the naked eye over the next few nights!

Sigh.  Just mention it to Chilli.  She'll know what to do.

PS - Are you at SPT Brighton this weekend?

I know all the stars and planets in the sky, I thought everyone did...

OK, I used Google Sky Map on my Android, I'll show you at Brighton because yes, I'm there.  Not qualified but hopefully 1st on the alternates list.

I know of the Sun & the Moon - there are others?

Think I better bring my ippy to Brighton, & you can do things to it. I have teletext already.

I had an idea of using windows movie maker to put together all the photo's I took.

But the music I'd want to put with it doesn't fit - so are there any programmes available out there you can use to edit music with?

Obviously something free, and preferably something easy?

Nice pics Jon.

Just go to the start or end of the track once it's on the WMM timeline, put your cursor over it and drag it left or right to make it smaller. Alternatively you could split the movie right there and highlight/delete the sound segment you don't want in. The movie will play normally, even though there's a split in it. In fact, you can edit the movie clips on the timeline in much the same way.
