Some of you probably don't stray into the degen part of Blonde too often, thus will not be aware of my current challenge (http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=57248.msg1539658#new) Cliffs of which are trying to spin up the buy in for an upgrade on my current camera which is a (http://www.reevoo.com/p/samsung-p1000).

The original plan was to get one of these: http://www.whichonehowmuch.co.uk/pr-2696107/pc-29/c-17/photography/digital-cameras/canon-eos-600d, simply because my friend has one and the pics he takes look great.

Obv 'my friend has one' isn't the best reason to purchase a camera so now i am beginning to do some research, where else better to go than here? I am fully aware that simply by typing out this post I have put a massive bok on my whole challenge. But hey ho, its done now.

Subject:

New to Photography
Like wildlife/nature shots
Like close up shops
Like to edit photos but this doesn't need to be done in camera
Good with technology/overly convoluted gadgets

Camera to fit purpose: This is where i need the help, Dob't really know any of the following:

Low end DLSR/Compact/Bridge?
Type of zooms/Lenses?
Make?

I did a test on the website and told it basically what i wanted and to my surprise it suggested my friend's camera: Canon EOS 600D or the Nikon D3100

Anyone got any thoughts?

Whilst I am not really up to speed with the latest kit I don't think you will go too far wrong with any Canon DSLR. I got my 350D in 2005 and am still capturing some great images with it. In addition to the kit lens I also bought a 70-300 telephoto which is awesome.

Here are a few random images I have taken with this camera....

Also like the underside shot. Is it an F-15? Not too hot on any non Russian aircraft tbh

Time is a great idea for the next topic imo, so many interpretations to be had. Could do an old man = not much time, all sorts.

Here are a couple of mine from outside the station when i went to NYC and this was at a time when i put zero thought into pics. Can't wait to go back there again and compare my albums.

Yes that's Grand Central Terminal. A stunning location for photography. The light is perfect.

Choose one from these five Milly. Amazingly versatile, no more lenses to buy.
