I know it's a little early but the weights were announced this week, does anyone have a fancy with a big trial coming up this weekend?

With a nice weight , form over 4 miles + I thought Always Right was good value at 33/1, you have to forgive it the run at Wetherby but if it was trained by a bigger name I think it would be shorter. Ive had a small bet as it runs in the Haydock trial on Saturday.

Think Alfa Beat could run a big race @ 46s

and I'll be on Killyglen at pretty much whatever price (36.0 atm) if he gets into the race as was travelling kindly all the way up with the pace until falling about 8 out last year and should have learned from that and has 6lbs lower to carry this year.

Will keep an eye on this mate. Killyglen sounds like he had the same run that Mon Mome did the year before he won.

I've had a dabble on On His Own @26 on BF also had a very speculative couple of quid on Quel Esprit @220.

Killyglen into 18s in places after a tidy win in Ireland so thats very deece to have double the price. Alfa Beat drifted big time after losing his action last time out at Fairyhouse so I would guess that one wouldn't run.

One I've backed a couple of days ago in the Enhanced Win Only market @ 22s is Cappa Bleu.

Been trained for the race by Evan Williams in the same way State of Play has been for a number of years now (placing in 3 in a row) for the same stable. I'm sure this Cappa Bleu is the number one hope this year and is on a competitive mark and will jump and stay all day. Dotted up in the Hunters Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in 09 and was thought of as a future Gold Cup horse. Not really worked out but has shown flashes of retaining ability and has been campaigned with lightly.

Think the 20s with Stan James win only is still a decent price.

Obviously an absolute crapshoot of a race tho, goes without saying. I think for the last 4 years everything I've backed has been brought down by random horses.

Hold on Julio is my fancy here, runs very strong. Had a poor show at Cheltenham despite heavy backing and should be raring to go in this.

By taking advantage of the to finish the race markets?

Last year I had big bets on perennial plodders Piraya, Character Building and Comply or Die to complete @ 11/4, 5/4 and 7/4 which were all absolutely massive prices on that ground I thought. When all 3 crossed the line on the broadcast I thought I had scooped big until later finding out that my biggest punt Comply or Die had refused at the second last then jogged home.

Wonder if after what happened last year, jockeys will be urged by the BHA to pull up horses who have no chance in the final 1/2 mile?

A mate has backed Sunnyhillboy to win the world at 25/1 and 20/1.

He'll be very jealous if he ever sees this post!
