The night is still young, but try telling John "Cupcake" McGrane

Another nice shirt from John. He may leave poker for months on end, but some things never change...

Llyr Jones "LOJ" on blonde

Llyrs sells cheese for a living. Today's offerings to me out of his boot include brie, smoked cheddar and something blue. Put that in your pipe and smoke it Barry Neville

"How's it going?" I ask the Liverpudlian-Welshman

"Good" he says

"Still in cheese?" I ask

"Yes, but more worldwide now"

Booming business, it seems

On the next table the flop reads

Paul Skipper, he of rush out to the car park, 2nd in Monte Carlo, Turkey farmer fame bets 2,025

Richard Blacklock makes it 5,050

On the button James Buckley calls

Skipper gives it theatrics, calls

A pretty big 18,000 in the middle then on Level 1

turn

Skipper checks

Blacklock all in

Buckley insta all in

Skipper folds

Blacklock

Buckley, as the quick all in call implied,

river

Buckley more than doubles, Blacklock near tonight's re-entry with a few chips left

the latest is that we are up to 113 runners after one level. No exits yet

The appeal of the £150 I think is that the guarantee is big enough to attract the usual deepstackers, yet £150 is affordable to those who would normally play a £50 on a Friday here.

I reckon we might hit 500 runners over the 2 starting days. Yes?

Late entry tonight til 1am, tomorrow til 8pm. No excuses now....
