Hey,

I've been thinking about a new pc for a while but I feel like its definitely time to start researching it properly and where better to find out what a poker player needs inside his PC than a forum full of poker players..

Now I am a techie, electronics engineer by trade and im not to bad with PC's but im not an expert.

So I'm thinking something along these lines:-

1. Multi monitor setup - 2 min, maybe 3.
2. Poker software doesn't require a lot of graphics but i'll be playing games sometimes and would like to hook it up to my yamaha av amp for playing movies and games on my projector.  Going to need a multi monitor output, and HDMI for the Amp.
3. I'm not fussy about OS, but will probably have a 100Gb solid state Hard drive. with at least 1Tb as backup.
4. I have my old Dimension Dell 5200 (i think) that I believe only has a GFX issue. (stopped working just after i bought my samsung Nc300 netbook so havent needed it.
5. I would like to keep the whole thing under £1k.

Cant think of anything else right now, but im sure there will be plenty for discussion....

What games of spdo you play? You can pick quadcores up fairly cheap nowadays. Thatll come with plenty of spec to handle anything you need.

Imho, with computers as sick as they are for pretty cheap, youve only got to worry about integrating as many moniters as you need

PC Specialist is a good company with a good reputation and build quality.

That PC would also definitely do everything you stated above but I do see it doesn't appear to come with any monitors and it nearly hits your £1k spend.

I had a quick look at another company I only hear good things of lately and they have a similarly specified machine but with a monitor included for less.

Going into customise there are various options to change, adding a second monitor still keeps the price under £1000.  You might need to confirm what you need if you wanted to go beyond 2 monitors though.

Thanks, yeah I'll look it up.  The monitor/ sexy peripherals are going to be left for once I've 'earnt' them through grinding.  This way, once I've earned them I'll have a better setup to earn even more money, I'm a bit of a child in many ways and this kind of incentive plan is probably going to induce good results and feelgood rather than just buying it all at the start and not appreciating the whole thing.   cupcake

Same with a new chair.

Any other ideas from grinders, or knowledgable PC people?

Will post pictures once ive bought it and got it setup.  Going to buy once I win another 2 dtd500 seats this wk! (minimum - would like to pick off 4 and 4dtd150 seats if possible for a combined £2.6k payweek!)
