In "E-Gaming Review", they discuss the i-Poker situation where many of the licencees are unhappy at the reported changes......

http://www.egrmagazine.com/news/exclusive_ipoker_licensees_demand_answers_over_proposed_network_split

It begins.....

"....Several operators with poker offerings on the 46-skin iPoker network will demand showdown talks with the Playtech-owned business over its plans to ring-fence cash tables from a select group of skins.

Multiple sources have confirmed to eGaming Review that bet365, Paddy Power, Titan Poker, William Hill and  Poker 770 will be on the ring-fenced network, known anecdotally as ‘iPoker 2’...."

The skins mentioned for ipoker 2 are basically the ones who actually spend money on marketing and bring new players to the table, rather than just poaching existing ones with rakeback deals. This looks like an attempt to repoach those players with the promise of a softer network.

Not sure whether I agree with it or not tbh, seems shady, but I kinda agree with it at the same time.

Big shame for the few iPoker skins that seem to make an effort not just to poach players from other skins (Boyles, Bluesq, BBP.....and basically anyone else with shareholders who post here)

What will they do for an Encore, though?

wait am i getting this right?

The "big skins" with the highest traffic and liquidity on iPoker are going to fench off from the others so there will be tables where only players on these specific sites can play on? So in theory the "rakeback grinders" wont be on this site because none of them will offer RB deals, meaning more fish and a softer site?

mmm, not sure what I think tbh, I think I think it's a bad idea but I can't see any option but to go to this new network, so commercially it seems like its's quite possibly a good idea.

Depends - not for the "excluded" rooms.

Nice one. Ninja fix Smiley

I think it's potentially a great idea for the wider industry and the consumer. Anything that encourages the likes of 365 and Hills to spend some money on poker as they used to is a good thing imo and the old network model was looking (is looking) increasingly commercially unviable. It might also create an opportunity for a new network provider??

Mind you the last poker network that decided to focus on high-end clients alone was Crytpo...
