Hi, i was wondering if anyone had advice and or experience of using a satnav in the USA. I have a tomtom and will be flying out there in the next few weeks, from there i will be picking up a car at the airport and was just wondering what i shall have to do to get my satnav to work over there?

download it off the internets and put it on to an SD card, check the satnav, there should be a slot for it?

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down 'happy'. They told me i didn't understand the assignment, and I told them they didn't understand life.

Not all satnavs use an SD card. Newer TomToms don't.

Ok np. I'm guessing it's an older model.

We hired one with the car for 10 days for something like £20.

I think you should be able to by a map for it .. plug your satnav into the computer and it gives you some options on what to buy and a update if it needs it
