Whoever does that job, there is a major rebuilding ahead. (Cech, Terry, Lampard, Drogba all need replacing in the next 18 months)
AVB didn't get the time to really start it, doubt Abramovic will give the next guy time to do it

he seems unwilling to throw the money at it he used to, I dread to think how much they have paid out to sacked manager.

Successive Chelsea youth teams have been good. All these teams have found their way blocked to the first team by foreign imports. Understandably, but less successfully in the last 18 months
This probably has to change. McEachran and others need to get their chance in this rebuilding

AVB's 3yr contract worth £14m. On top of that, CFC spent £28m paying off Ancelotti & Porto. Thus his 39-game reign cost over £1m a match.

Do you not think a half decent manager should be able to walk in to any team that's filled with world class players and be able to at least beat the likes of West Brom? (just using them as an example, they've been poor all season) I just don't see how giving him more time would be of any benefit to the club in either the short term or the long term. Martin O'Neill for example walks in to Sunderland and gets them playing better football pretty much straight away, not outstanding, but better than they were and I would think any monkey to be able to go to Man City and win a few games. Similar with Chelsea, they have the team, they need managing, not completely clearing out.

Reputedly, a problem at Chelsea is a very strong dressing room and Player Power. Much more difficult to make an instant impact if the players think they know better.....

That's why they need a stronger manager. A workman can't always get rid of his tools because he can't do his job.

Is it that good a team though? The back 4 is terrible.

A strong enough manager to counteract the player power isnt going to come to a struggling Chelsea side, especially without the CL next season. So the puppet (Di matteo for now) will just be happy to be there, will give in to all the players demands. GG having the 'spine of the team' still in place in 2/3 seasons time.
They needed a transitional season, maybe a season to early but still needed to be done.
AVB will have sympathy, and can walk into 90% of jobs in Europe with 20 mill in the ban
