Trying to reformat my hard disc.
The geezer in the shop said "it's self explanatory"
I put the disc in the drive and it's popped up this:
Auto-Play DVD RW Drive (D:) Repair Disc Windows 7 64-bit
General Option
Open folder to view files using Internet Explorer
View more autoPlay options in Control Panel
And nothing is happening.
I can click on the bottom two things.. but I have no clue what anything means after I click them
What should I click/press/do?

I think you need to restart your computer with the cd in the drive.
It should then ask you if you want to boot from hard drive or disc.
Pick disc and then it should start windows and have pretty easy instructions to follow.
I am not 100% sure this is right so maybe wait until someone else comes on here and confirms it.

Ah. That's probably it. Geezer could have mentioned this. Thanks Chris.-

Nope, this doesn't seem to be working.
A little red light is flashing occasionally, but nothing else seems to be happening.

This could get complicated.
You'll need to set the computer to boot from the DVD drive in the BIOS.
When you start the computer you'll see something like
PHOENIX BIOS or AMIBIOS
with an option to presss ESC or F1 to enter setup
when you see this press ESC or F1
You'll then need to go to boot options and set the CD/DVD drive as the first boot drive.
any problems let me know what type of bios it says you have and I'll (try and) guide you through the options.

Actually got into the boot menu from F11.. Anyways, I've achieved it somehow. As far away from "self explanatory" as could possibly be imo. But done now, thanks for your help guys, alot more useful than the ejit in the computer shop!
