Traveling dilemma.

With not used to traveling around the outskirts of London at peak times can anyone come up with any easy solution.
We have booked Reece into the new Lego Land hotel for this Thursday. Now the thing is to get there for 10 am on the day we would have to get him up very very early then run the risk of it ruining his first day with being tired etc.
I have been looking at maybe traveling down on the Wednesday night and staying somewhere near. The prices are a little higher than we wanted to pay once you get close to Windsor so after paying a lot of money already for the night at Lego land I am reluctant to pay too much. There is one I have found for £55 which is fine BUT it is in Milton Keyens. Now here is my question to you locals down there. I can see it is 80 miles from our final destination but i thought at least it got a bullk of the journey out the way for him. What is the traffic like in general after 9am from Milton to Windsor or should i keep trying for somewhere nearer?

Just looked at my local Bracknell Travelodge and there was a room for £59. Towns to look at would be Bracknell, Ascot, Windsor & Slough - somewhere out of that lot should have something reasonably priced and all are within a 20 min drive of Legoland and easy to get too.

MK is J14 of the M1 and Windsor J5 or 6 on the M4
That time of the morning going M1-M25-M4 you are talking over an hour, probably more..for what is a 50-60 mile journey
The route to go is via Aylesbury, cross country. You will miss all the traffic and possibly halve journey time
A5 South from Milton Keynes
A4146 South to Aylsebury
A418 crossing over the M40
Stick in Windosr via Aylesbury in the sat nav

The traffic from MK to Legoland @ that time of morning would be the nut worst, Mo, do not even think about it.
For a few quid more, you could get a Hotel just west of Heathrow, which is much nearer, & worth the extra.
Jurys @ Heathrow would charge about £70 or £80, & you could see the planes coming & going.....
The Baylis near Heathrow wold cost about £70.
Try "Booking.com" or expedia, & give yourself a 10 mile radius, I'm certain you would get something in the region of £60 or £65.

I've been to Legoland a few times, and stayed in Slough each time - it's a pretty easy journey from there (15mins ish). I think we did Premier Inn the last couple of times (this would be 3-4 years ago now).
Bear in mind Legoland Windsor is VERY hilly - you start at the top but most things are at the bottom - there is a tram thing but it's very very busy at the start and end of each day. If Reece is likely to get tired going up and down it's worth considering and planning routes round accordingly.
Oh, and you get VERY wet on the rapids ride. One of the few rides with an entrance halfway up the hill, so probably worth doing first then you get the rest of the day to dry out
.
He should love it though; perfect age for it I would say.

Cheers Rex, yes he will get very tired easily and we no longer have access to the pushchair we used in the states. We have a room already booked for the Thursday night at the new lego land hotel, a Pirates room as a special treat for him lol. I am just looking for a room for tomorrow as a last idea instead of him traveling all the way down on the actual day.

Dilemma now solved.
Got a room here for £55
http://www.whitehouselangley.co.uk/cgi-bin/rez60load.pl?lastminute.html
, this is perfect for us as my main worry was that he will get hungry and i would be stuck in a room only, at least this place gives us a toaster / microwave and fridge to make him something.
Some of you may think whats the problem here but remember we arn't used to taking him off for nights away. This will be his fourth time away I think in over 7 years. Once to Gt Yarmouth, then Wales for 2 nights, Devon, then Florida. It feels weird lol.
