In a commons commitee debate when questioned by another MP regards the vat on hot food, Osbournes reply was that he should buy it when it's still cold!! Ridic bad imo Geo

cue panic buying and the innevitable self fulfilling prophecy of running out. we wouldn't run out if morons didnt panic buy. and nobhead MP's didnt tell people it was a good idea to keep topped up.

Whole thing is a consipracy to make us spend more at the pumps, and justify price rise. No intention of striking imo

Latest: The government says drivers should top up tanks with fuel, but "not panic".
I'm glad we have then to tell us what to do, I was just going to panic, but not top up.

Hope this doesn't last. I commute everyday and the petrol pumps were manic. Guy behind the counter said thay have sold 30,000 litres already which has never been heard of. He didn't say how much they normally sell. Queues were horrendous.

the general populous are just plain stupid . the politicians know this so engineer a fuel shortage crisis. panic buying begins ! our country is Bankrupt although no one will admit to it . great timing for collecting much needed extra revenue to 'prop up the end of year figures ' advising the public to fill cans for garage storage beggars belief ! however desperate times call for desperate measures, even taxing the poor old pasty .
sigh im so fkin tilted by this shower of shites running the country

Suggesting that people keep their tanks full of petrol is good advice if tanker drivers are going to strike and not deliver petrol. I don't know what better advice the government could offer? Wait, I know. Tanker drivers are going to stop delivering petrol so all drivers should go to Greggs and buy a sausage roll. Much better advice.

it's terrible advise ! both irresponsible and just plain stupid . it can only create panic buying and dimwits storing petrol in their homes. there is no shortage, there are drivers delivering fuel. no strike date has been announced and even if there is a strike it wont last for more than a few hours . ridic that people believe all this shite and dont see the real reasons behind it all IMO . : )

Sorry Mantis, but this is so far wrong it's off the scale of wrongness. There isn't a strike, so there is was no shortage of fuel or queues to buy some until the government started waffling on about creating fire risks in your garage and wasting time topping up. mmmm hot sausage roll even better, a hot steak bake

If health and safety concerns are an issue for the tanker drivers what's changed in the last few years to make them want to strike?
