His open is an old school "pot bet" (pre ante), so Im gonna say he is 40+ and terrible/old school - or just french  

When he leads flop he has an A (or abs air and wants to rep it)

ck ck turn fine (but if your gonna bet river bet turn IMO)

When he checks river, given its a "scare" card (term used loosely), I think he is going to do this with ALL his Aces, incl 2 pr hands (AT AJ) and therefore you only beat <A9 (which is starting too look thin to v bet given A3 & A5 also beat you)

I bet turn and bet river when checked to also vs an unknown. As played I agree that the bet should be smallish but not that small. I'd bet 3295.

@James what is it about AQ that you say makes it a bad hand to make a first 3b with? If he's been opening a lot he'll expect us to play back eventually so it seems like a good spot to rep lighter than we are? Or reverse implied because we're 80bbs deep?

tbf - i know you are being funny, but there is def nothing wrong with labeling people in poker, even by sterotype unti proven otherwise. And besides, it was quite clearly (in part) a set up to my French gag given this was on stars.fr

that said im happy with my assupmtion given his raise size - afterall, old folk dont like change! and he has probs been doing it for years since his old PLHE days at the aviation!

Can you explain your reasons for taking a check back turn, bet river line? It seems yuckedy yuck to me, so would be interested to hear what your reasoning was.

i felt with his line taken he didnt have many Ax and was just c/f the turn, basically thought he didnt have anything and perhaps had like jq or something which granted could call a bet, i just thought was a weird line in hand and was happy to evaluate otr and also if ge does have complete air that he was going to c/f turn he could perhaps bet river again. If he has 10x i would expect him to fold, but i guess that alot of tenx as straight draws too.

Otr when he checked i tried to target the weak part of hi srange and eveb perhaps induce from total air. I really didnt put him on ax otherwise i would have opted for a larger bet, but he turned over a9o ftl so i guess giving his hand i played it bad and didnt read his range correctly at all.
