Having scrolled through the diaries for the past 6 months, I feel in the mood to make my own.

I have taken great inspiration from others who have posted, not leaving any details out and generally posting their honest thoughts and feelings.

No one on here will know me so a brief introduction.

My name is Ash (may post full name later) and I live in Preston in the NW. I am 24 years old and currently work as a manager for an Accident Management company with poker on the side.

I think starting this diary will help me tremendously both through interaction with others on this forum and by me describing my feelings on a day to day basis (mostly involving pokers)

I have many degen stories which may come to light later on but I have moved on from there and now go about life in general with a level head (i think).

i have a bankroll which is comfortable for 1/2, but have no intention whatsoever at the moment to grind for a living (hopefull y in the future).

I mainly play live cash either at any of the MAnchester casinos or private games.

I also have a streak of sports betting in me which maybe i should stop to concentrate fully on poker

Thanks for reading and hope to entertain all readers in the coming weeks and months!

A little bit about me

I was always a straight A student in school and came out with mainly A's and B's.

It was when i went to college that I found poker and my days were spent in the canteen playing £1 games writing down who owed what to who as we were on camera.

I played my first tournaments in Rileys snooker club and proceeded to play there for a good year, eventually becoming one of the better players through pure aggresive play.

I started university in Sep 2007 to study for a chemistry degree.  This is where poker took over my life and not in the good way.  I blew the best part of £15k in one year and by the end of the first year found myself in some deep trouble.

At uni, I played on stars and played 3/6 with one or two buy ins, building it up and losing it all again.  Had i known about BRM maybe i'd be doing this poker thing professionally.

The sickest thing i ever did was play in a freerool on stars, won a $11 tournament ticket. PLayed a $11 180 SNG and won roughly $550.  With that, i went straight onto the cash tables and proceeded to win just over $11,000 in the space of an hour simply by moving up stakes where i had one full buy in.  This came to a crashing halt when i sat on a 50/100 table i think and lost the lost with KK where i made a set and the other player made a flush.

I took two years out from the game as i was degening out of control, got myself a job, quit uni and concentrated on paying back what I owed to numerous banks, credit card companies and friends.

Earning £1200 a month and having only £200 after paying my debts, i realised the value of money.

Two years ago, i enrolled back to university to study for a Maths degree, i now have 2 yyears remaining and hopefully will complete it.

I have started playing poker again semi seriously over the last 18 months and have my bankroll at approx £5000.  This is not my life roll and is completely seperate from everything.

The plan is to finish my degree, play pokers atleast 4 times a week and build a bankroll big enough to move up stakes and take it from there.

Don't worry Ash, you'll get used to all the characters here soon enough, & their varying styles of humour.

Thanks for that "tikay Tip" the otheer week, too. More winners  please!

Good luck with the Diary, too.

Gulp.

Good luck you!

As you may, or may not, have noticed, there is quite a debate raging about that match tonight on "tikay Tips".

So far, we've had recommends for Wigan, Wigan DNB, Wigan with a start, & Arsenal with a handicap!

Swerve incoming......

I note your £5k "poker 'roll", is your betting & punting 'roll seperate from that?
