HTC + Gmail Qu
«
on:
April 22, 2012, 11:57:59 AM »
I want to have a small handful of emails (i.e. all my e-tickets, refs and bookings etc when travelling) retained on my HTC phone, using Gmail.
I have tried, starring them, making them important, creating a separate folder for them, but after a while, they seem to expire.
Any tips pls on how to do this?
TIA!

Don't know specifically about htc but there is likely to be an option to store mail for x many days. Change it to do not delete

Thanks, but I get an awful lot of email, often with embedded screenshots etc that would gunk up the phone in no time - is there any hope of being able to set permissions to a sub folder only? Otherwise, the only other option I suppose would be to add another email account and just fwd the stuff I want to that? Seems a bit clumsy, but it would work...

Using a filter to forward the specific emails to another gmail account, and store those permanently on your phone would be a decent solution.
I have important emails that I apply a label to in gmail using a filter, and as long as I have a connection, I can refresh the email and get the info. I use this app to give me label-specific widgets to emails on my phone (and different alerts, etc.):

That's a screenshot from my phone showing the gmail label notifier widgets. You can have a text label with them as well, but I know what they're for so choose not to show them.

LOL. That's just a in the inbox, also got plenty in 'sent' and others archived. No need to delete many emails in gmail though, as there's plenty of storage space and between the labels and search it's easy to find the emails I want at any time.

I love it in terms of the speed, screen, OS and the overall build. Unfortunately, it has a built-in battery rather than one that can be replaced and that's a shame imo.
Really happy with it, and very impressed how much quicker it is at simple things such as browsing the web compared to the Desire. Also manages to multi-task loads of apps without slowing down or anything crashing.
Definitely recommend it. I got it in white, which I quite like even if it's a bit poncy.
