Just a heads up if you have an account on the 2+2 forums, I know they may be seen as a rival or whatever but from the message 2+2 have released looks like it could be problematic. 04/26/2012 2:13pm ET: Forums closed for maintenance
On April 26th at approximately 11:20 AM pacific time, the Two Plus Two Forums were closed as a result of a hacker who has displayed the ability to access e-mail addresses and encrypted passwords. He also indicated the ability to decrypt passwords.
While it is unclear the extent of data to which he gained access, e-mail addresses and passwords on the Two Plus Two forums should be considered compromised. If you have used your 2+2 password on any other site, you are advised to change it.
For your security we are closing the forums until the breach is patched.
We hope to be back up as soon as possible.

This just reiterates that you should never use the same passwords for websites such as forums (that aren't always that secure) as you do on any sites that hold more sensitive data (such as your email account, facebook) or sites where you have a financial risk (banking, poker, etc.). Unless of course you're Herbie and hoping a philanthropic hacker is going to pay off your debts for you

Cheers for that Rupert
My banking and credit cards are all very secure so not worried there. I've just changed the couple accounts I had that used the same password and cancelled my cards while I work through betting/poker accounts.
Now to go start setting the ones I still use up properly I guess using that kit Noah posted up.

How do I do this?
If you don’t know what your 2p2 password is, go to 2p2 (whose forums are down but whose servers are still up), log out, and then try logging in again to check your password.
How you can log out and in if you can't access the forum?

I have 2 cards which I use only for punting sites so have just cancelled those 2, over reaction but I can't remember 1/2 the sites and it saves me rushing to sort it

I'd like to say congratualations to 2+2 for the way they are handling this. It must be very difficult to shut a large part of your business down for days at a time because you've decided that your website is insecure. I think most people would just cover it up and do and hope it was OK. Good integrity tekkers, methinks.
