Am I missing something?

The guy has more obvious than is obviously possible cheated in the scummiest possible way, yet in a brief bit on BBC coverage all the players are giving him credit as a "great family man" and really "honest and genuine guy"

WTF?

How can any pro snooker player go on national TV and say these things about the guy, even if you thought he was a decent bloke or if you were mates with him surely you never be seen publicly defending him. Or has everyone just decided to forget about it?

Bit bad imo

If you bothered to give some thought to the incident, it would be obvious that Higgins had no intention to fix matches.

Used to love Higgins but he is clearly a scumbag. Can't stand him now. Ridiculous how the cheating was glossed over when he won last year

Lol, lets be clear about this, Higgins got away with the ban he got, if every iffy game had been taken into account he would be sat in the bar now.

Most if the players stick up for him coz most of em had been at it themselves.

Check out mark allens twitter spat this week with stephen lee who is another who used' the shaggy defence' ie, ' it wasnt me'

Allen took offence to lee giving him stick after his outburst last week, allen tweeted he hoped higginson beat him but that lee had probably backed him to do so.

That tells you all you need to know about what lee has got away with and everyone knows it too.

Worst thing that could happen to the game is maguire winning this year, that will be 2 consecutive cheats to lift the trophy.

He can always forget his chalk if he's in a tight spot.

No just the odd frame here and there, in fact it was no worse than those Pakistani bowlers...

I was "bothered" to pretty close attention to the story, most importantly the bit where he is sat on camera telling the guy which offshore account to ship the 300k to whilst re-assuring him how easy it is to throw a frame in a snooker match. The excuse of "I was scared they were mafia so I played along" doesn't really cut the mustard with me.
