Yup, just goes to show how great we really are! When our fish can take on the supposed cream of Europe and win.

I said we, can't believe I've just associated myself with a bunch of skirt wearing, deep fried sheeps bladder eating bunch of nancy boys.

Credit where it's due. They got the job done and don't deserve to be called fish.

I say well done to them.

Hence you still being in contention near the top of the Cincins leaderboard. Cool

Fnar fnar! That grinding took a lot of (profitable) work I'll have you know.... You know how many good hands you get in 16 hours worth of cash game poker!? At a time, I add honestly, where I was almost broke due to a rather expensive xmas shopping spree initiated by wifey! I became a grinder. Long live the grind!

Congrats to the Scots, I hope that this leads to a bit more respect in various circles.

However their victory doesn't make the way the team was selected in any way correct.

what can i say lucky its in our blood.

I received an email from there head coach, he seemed to hear about my famous Blondebash Top Jock victory and wanted to meet me to discuss joining the scottish team.

I need to email him back to arrange a meeting

Selection process

Do you play poker?  If yes go to next question, if no - do you punt in the Maybury Casino?

Next Q - do you punt in the Maybury Casino?

Next Q - do you punt in the Maybury Casino?

Nah, more like

Do you play poker? (optional, this is not really that important)

Do you punt in Gala Maybury? (If no, your questionaire is complete, thank you for your time, but we will not be requiring your services)

Do you punt regularly in Gala Maybury? (If no, your questionaire is complete, thank you for your time, but we will not be requiring your services)

Do you lose vast sums of money on Gala Mayburys gaming tables? (If no, your questionaire is complete, thank you for your time, but we will not be requiring your services)

Are you one of our...ahem, I mean, Gala Mayburys top 6 punters in terms of money spent and lost at the gaming tables? (If no, your questionaire is complete, thank you for your time, but we will not be requiring your services)

If you managed to answer yes to all but the first question, then CONGRATULATIONS, you've won a place in the Scotland team for this years grand slam!

What a bunch of bitter bunnys we all are.

There are some decent players in that Scottish team, regardless of any hoo-ha about how they came to be there.
TBH if a Gala Maybury team played a Cincin's tem, I wouldn't fancy our chances.

I did sincerely congratulate them - but their success doesn't make the selection process correct

Well done to them, I'm just curious as to the selection process, I recognise 3 of the guys from the Maybury all ,as Tank says, very good players. Our problem in Scotland is that we have no organisation that represents Scottish poker which is a real sin. If you see how well it is done with the Irish and there poker...well enough said really.
Still well done the Maybury boys !
