drawing hands

two hands i played in the £150 at the weekend.
1) this hand is from day 1, blinds 1200/2400/200.
i'm now up to 120k or so after winning all ins with AQ and AA in the last 20 mins or so. thats about all the history the villain has as he wasn't at our table from the start. so as a balding 50 year old ive got a good image!
i open UTG to 5100 with
,all fold to the sb who calls (young guy, seemed ok,had already doubled up but cant remember what with right now.wud remember if it was 72 tho obv), bb comes along.
17k or so in the pot
flop
they both check and i bet 5100,sb makes it 17k,bb folds.
i'm ashamed to say that the c/r did occur to me but i hadn't checked his stack (75k behind)
is this an auto shove to put him to the test, nice pot if he folds, big stack for the win and short if we lose?

This is definantly not the hand you asked me about. Much more interested in the Qthh/KQss ones. This is the easiest snap fistpump run around dtd with my shirt above my head ala Giggsy shove.
Also, slightly bigger otf is prob better, altho i kinda like 5.1k if you want to induce.

as a sports/horse punter an ex bookmaker i always said that i'd have to get the $$$ by 50 years old cos you lose your bottle.
i proved it on friday night by CALLING the extra 12k,and folding to his 25k turn bet. no kahunas and i was very dissappointed in my play.
btw he showed
and would have folded to my all in.
anyway,as Adam said that was standard,my next drawing hand is early on day 2.
blinds 2500/5000/500
folds to a guy older than me,hes already won a big pot with AA vs a shortish stack, and he covers my 150k.
never seen him before and in the AA hand his initial raise was 3x so i mark him down as "old school/recreational"
he's in MP and makes it 13k (obv not AA then, lol)
it folds to me in the bb with
i wanted to make it 31k (probs should be bigger from sb if taking this route?) but i thought that he may not fold his a9/at/aj type hands. is 3betting this size committing too many chips esp when OOP?
is 3betting to 31k better than calling, which is what i did?
flop comes
i check,villain bets 13k and i sigh fold.
i think im behind an am not sure if he'll fold any ace lot alone two pair type hands.
so second pair,backdoor nfd,and any T to the str8.
EASY FOLD?

i need to wind the clock back a few years!!
the thing is,if i have 50k it goes in in a flash, yet i have far less fold equity!!

3bet sizing comes from a variety of factors live.
Value or bluff?
If we 3bet will he peel A9 and fold any none A/9 high board? Then 3bet away.
Even many rec players will fold here, or peel and just fold none nut flops. And as we know in poker its hard to flop something, so i feel here we should 3bet and take the initative. The only problem i see is the stack sizes. Its a really tough spot on a Q high board if we cbet and get raised, esp vs players like this. Online we can just cram it in happily but here I'm not so sure despite the SPR being about 2.5. (Anyone agree with this? Looking back it does kind of suck on a Q high board with 35k in pre and a cbet but we're getting an obscene price anyway so...?)
I think slightly bigger than 31k is fine, we don't mind him folding and we win more when we cbet the flop. I wouldn't want to go much bigger tbh. I don't hate a peel, but i think 3bet is slightly better. Don't be worried about people peeling. Who wins the pot more post? You with the betting lead? Or him without it, position doesn't matter as much here, we can presume he wont make moves so its fine.

i like peeling pre the KsQs in this tournament, keeps the pot smaller and he has a bunch of dominated hands you can keep in. would call this flop as well, then re-evaluate turn. Probably fair to assume that a random old chap in the dtd 150 deepstack isn't gonna go ballistic with 43hh trying to barrel you.
Hand one is EZ shove, tho player dependent might make it 35k and call off instead, whatever u think will get him to fold 99 more.

Yeh can't fold hand 1, take a drink, look at your chips, shake your head, ask him, you really just two puttered me, 2 minutes deliberation in this time he will be convinced he's beat and sweating it so hard, then give him the well if you got me you got me I want to play cash anyway live and jam. When he doesn't snap start looking smug, ask for a valet and order an ice cream, 2 scoops, no sauce, check the valets arae out as she's walked away and say you have called yet?

drawing hands are pretty sexy.
pretty hard to do much wrong with a large draw. allin usually the best option, two ways of winning see? never much wrong with calling the allin either, you're almost always getting the right price with nfd/over+fd etc.
