What are your fancies? I'm on Coolavanney Bert at 33's each way first 4. He looked a tired dog in the semis but the weeks rest should help and if he leads the one dog to the bend he has a good chance.

I'm really tempted to lay Taylors Sky, I just don't think he's the dog he was last year and he has an awful draw.

The Judicial dog ran a good semi and O'Donovan is an experienced trainer I think 5/1 is value. The Westmead dog at 11/1 is overpriced mainly because Nick Savva knows what to do with dogs in finals and at that price and with the dogs running style each way first 2 is tempting.

It's wide open I'm looking forward to a great race. Will post on here once I've made my mind up!

I think the final has lost some of its appeal since the fastest dogs in the competition in razldazal jayfkay and bubbly phoenix both found trouble in the semi's.

I have thought coolavanney bert was a lay every single round being a short runner, but he has continued to qualify and i think he is solid for the final. I agree taylors sky hasnt looked the same dog, BUT, charlie lister does this time and time again, gets them right for finals and gets them out. I actually dont think the draw is as terrible as it first looks as it can lead up the westmead dog, and track coolavanny and farloe ironman. The latter has to be a big price, has every chance of leading up on the rails and was impressive in the semis i thought.

I think the best bet on the card on saturday is freds champ in the derby plate. Drawn in 6 it looks a good thing with 5 rails runners, but id imagine it no great price.

I've been on Bert and Snapper from the start and am happy enough. Obviously Bert's chances lie with leading the one which he can do. Judicial might ping and make all but if he doesn't it opens it up nicely for Snapper if he can cut them off. Should be a great race and I'll be bricking it come race time.

Bert has to make the bend but I do think he will. The dog inside him was the other side of him in the semi and hardly tried to hug the rail. Suggests to me that, if they make the bend together, there will be a fair amount of contact. Bert beats him to the bend and the trouble will be behind him, leaving him a clear run to glory.

It all sounds so simple lol

Will be studying the Saturday card before the weekend, so hopefully between us we can come up with a good few winners.

I had a few quid sitting on Skybet and have put the lot on Westmead Adonis each way at 11/1 and have laid Taylors Sky so he is the only loser in my book now. Bert is the big winner for me though so he gets the biggest cheer.

Not seen the full card yet, will study it Saturday morning over a nice fry up.

I don't like Adonis for top two, can't see it, but if anyone else does, use bet365, they are paying 1/3 odds. Not sure on the price there though.

Looks like money coming for Judicial. As short as 7/2 now.

I remember watching Westmead Lord win the derby a few years ago and thinking "how the f*** did Savva get that dog to do that run?". My whole theory on betting Adonis each way is based on the hope that he can produce a similar piece of magic. I do agree that on all known form he should not be in contention, but I'm sure he will be primed on Saturday.

Been watching semis a fair bit, Judicial looks like he doesn't want to turn left with pace on his outer, doesn't look good for my Snapper bet as Snapper is consistently well out. Plus, really confident Bert can at least match Ironman up and Bert is fastest from 1 to 3.

Really good card!
In the marathon i really like the trap 4, buglys billie. It was well beaten by the bubbly dog in 6 in the heat last week, but i think buglys will come on alot for that. Its racing previous to that run had been done at crayford which is a horrible track for a greyhound to adjust from / to. Hoping the 5 dog can hold up the 6 at the bend, and if buglys billie keeps tabs on  the 6 on the 2nd circuit, i think it will prove too strong. Gnerally availble at about 5/2, i think its the value call against the 6 dog, in what looks to be a match.

The derby final is probably the most open its been for along time. Any of the 6 could win and it not be overly surprising. The more i look at it, the more i want to be on taylors sky. It hasnt shown the same sparkle this year, but its made the final again, and charlie lister really is the king in these situations. The dog WILL be 100% for the final, and i think its draw is not as bad as it first looks, it should lead up the westmead dog, and i think it can prove too strong for the early paced railers. Great final tho and nothing can be ruled out confidently.

The last televised race is probably the nap of the night. The 1 dog is just short of top class over 4 bends but has been competing against the best over the last 2 months and this is a huge drop in class. It has a BRILLIANT draw for a dog that doesnt ping from the boxes, but does pace up well. I think he will turn about a length behind the 3 dog, and prove way too strong.
Get on the 3 at a decent price treble ;-)

He just doesn't look fit to me. Wins this by a length or more at his best, but can't see him doing that tonight.
