Apologies for the time taken to make the decision on re-entry for this event but we have been busy with the CPP arrangements. In answer to the questions on here, I can now confirm that we have decided that the September £500 Megasized £500,000 GTE Deepstack will be a FREEZOUT (i.e. with no re-entry either on the day or next day).

Whist there are valid arguments for and against re-entry, the main reason for this decision is that we want the challenge of going for 1000 unique runners for one of our own monthly Deepstacks.

Wouldn't have thought I would say this a month ago as I have been a strong supporter of re entries, however, I am changing my views now. I played this weekends £150 freezout and did notice a difference in game play with one exception. Players knew if they busted that was it, they were gone. The game flowed better and reminded me of how they were prior to the re entry trend.

With freezouts every elimination moves you one closer to the money and the final table etc.

So fickle me is now in favour of freezouts!

If they do return I would hope that the re entry period is vastly reduced to around the first two or three levels and not as they were.

The one exception I mentioned was a guy who blew a quarter of a mil stack from level 12 raising every hand pre flop blind and calling every raise and re raise most of the time blind. I think he was chip leader in the room when he started and an hour later he was out. It took an hour because he kept winning with hands like 5,3 off when he called an all in and hit the three v AK.
I was the only one at the table who didn't get a share as I was card dead for that hour. But there were many grateful players who did grow their stacks. (nice chap though).
