Would it be permissable to have two 1 point win selections in the same race as a third option?

As opposed to either one 2 point win selection or one 1 point EW.

It's a possibility for future competitions if you're serious.
If there's any support for the idea, I'm happy to implement it.
Any suggestions that would "freshen up" these types of competitions are most welcome.

It is not an uncommon betting strategy in certain types of races.

I just thought that as we have two points to wager we might be able to bet them as we see fit without actually dividing whole points up unless it makes things too complicated.

Definitely not too complicated.
If we do another similar competition I'll be happy to add it to the rules unless people object.

I don't see your name on the list of competitors, are you running scared of tikay's algorithm?

Going to be a massively busy week for me.

I'll undoubtedly forget to send my entries in.

The amount of money I'm likely to lose on the week, every pony will come in handy come next Sunday.

I'm going to be a hard-ass.
If you pick a non-runner, you get the SP favourite.
However, if you make no selections at all (or choose non-existent horses), I will randomly pick a horse for you.
The reason for this is to stop people saying "I'll have the SP favourite in every race" because I'm sure that would be a winning strategy and it isn't really "tipping" imho.

I think I am.
I'm concerned that multiple people will say "pick the SP favourite in every race for me".
That wouldn't make it much of a "tipster" competition imho.
I'm happy to take instructions such as pick number 17 in every race or pick the first horse alphabetically.

I can tell from your response that you disapprove of my approach. I'm happy to discuss it.

Say i forgot or didnt have time to study my selections, how would i know what you have picked? I agree its lame to just put sp favourite for every race. Sometimes i put SP fav when i fancy whichever one gets gambled on. I've no probs whatever you decide.

I publish all selections (including ones that I pick) before the start of the first race each day so that everyone can see each other's selections.

I'm going to say no for now.
If other people also want this option, I'll allow it.
However, we would need to agree on the number of times this option can be used.
