i do badly in the leagues due to the fact the leagues reward grinding wheras i prefer to play for the win, i used to always be in the top 10 for bankroll though in my years absence i have slipped down to around 150th so i have some catching up to do

That would have been in then, bankroll.

I tended to play MTT's and STT's, but not enough to get high in the leagues. The Mike Caro recordings are pretty cool.

Ok, last post about poker school online, I promise.  I just listened to Mike Caro on the site. That is a very odd man, I have never listened to him before. When he explains something, it is like he is telling a story to a group of kids..." gather round kids...I have a tale to tell...this isn't an ordinary tall, but a tale of adventure". Has anyone else listened to him on the site?. Don't get me wrong, I will listen and re-listen to him because there aren't many people with his knowledge, it is just his technique is very strange.

The whole "Coming to you from Planet Poker" thing was a bit wierd...

Yea, other than that, I think he has a poker mind anyone would want to have. But definately not the strange part of his brain. I now know why they call him the "Mad Genius".

Perhaps he speaks like that because that's the best way to get an American to listen?

Very bedtime-storyesque.

but he knows his stuff even if he presents it oddly

Yea perhaps, I am actually getting used to it now. My attention span is bad while listening to things, I am better at reading. So the way he does it actually holds my attention. I still think he would be better off doing "Jackanory" story time.

I think I will give this a go as well, it was recommended to me a while back but I couldn't download the software as I remember right but I will try again. I never seem to find time to pick up one of the many books I have bought so this sounds ideal. What is rolf? or is it a bloke named rolf?

OK I've joined too.  I've lost a lot of STT's recently and I'm bloody fed up with it.  Perhaps it's just evening out my wins from before but having not won for a bit, I decided that I could do with some help without paying a fee for it every time.

I'm in for 3 months and I'll see how it goes.  My name is Graham73 on there.  Going to play for free and get a sponsorship.

not quite sure what to do to start with really.  Are you supposed to read the articles and play in the tourneys or is there more to it?

Too much going on on screen for my poor eyes!
