Tbh I don't see the upside of telling the world you've been beaten up.

Some things are best kept off twitter and facebook imo.

going to be a lot of press attention on him over next ten days, seems virtuallly impossible for this story to stay out of the public.

Oh, and @monda : Perrins is pretty fit/strong but also has had a lot of martial arts training, so he's strong, technically good and also he's completely fucking mental (which I believe helps in a "street" situation Smiley

Defo a good person to have on side in a ruckus, I still maintain though any sort of fighting at any stage almost regardless of the provocation is 100% retarded and actually pretty embarrassing.

I agree that fighting is completely stupid and usually futile.

However, having someone spit in your girlfriends face is not something 99% of people would stand for. (Don't know whether the spitting happened before/during or after the fight in this case.)

I'd have just mowed them down had I been there, or made the quick getaway.... Those scooters are handy bits of kit on the most part

Deffo can't expect anyone to stand for the spitting as everyone said. Vegas is like Jersey shore most nights anyway and there was obv too much ronron juice consumed somehwere along the line

Why is it a running theme of the thread that it is a good and important thing to be hard and streetwise? Are we suggesting that us majority of poker players that are not should feel inferior?

The hard guy who takes a few punches, but comes off the best, wakes up better off than the man he beat, but the best off of all the next morning is the man who saw a situation coming, put his head down, and walked away.

(This is of course not a comment at all on what happened, as all we have is speculation, but just on the general tone of the thread.)

Stu,

If someone spat on your girlfriend, would you walk away?

The only time I've ever felt under pressure was on the bridge outside the casino in Amsterdam.

Had about 10k in my pocket when I was surrounded from nowhere by about 8 lads looking for a scrap.

I near on shit myself.

When this fella showed up:

He said "alright lads, got a problem?"

And they vanished as quickly as they showed up. Cheesy

I'd take on anyone with HEAT on my team.

I've had a few good nights in Vegas with Alan Betson & Tony Bolton ,2 guys who are good to have on your side in any awkward situations Wink

Anyway, not sure going out in Vegas and celebrating hard after winning £10m is such a good idea with so many jealous thugs about. The odds of some heavy loser swinging a drunken punch in your direction must go thru the roof. I would want some big friends or security and maybe vip area with no public types. Actually on the first night prob safer to stay in the hotel with champagne and several hookers for a low key private celebration. In fact better give it a week as you can't be too careful.

Doubt it had anything to do with his $10m cash

You'd be surprised how oblivious to poker most people are, even LV residents

Most of the taxi drivers seem to be under the impression that the world series is one 7 week long tournament

I agree, with that much money, i'd hire out a venue OR get  my closest friends and relatives to my huge suite and party all night.  I certainly wouldn't go around the strip celebrating in a nightclub, its bound to piss someone off, not to mention people you barely know coming over to you sucking up to you all night etc- would get really tedious

I would have thought that, but then I noticed that it was all over the LV news sites.

Got shitfaced (as you probably do after winning the world), tripped over and grazed face, realized the press will be all over him in the near future, needed a story to save embarrassment imo. TBH if I had just won $10 mill and gone clubbing I don't think i would be capable of counting up to 6, i struggle when sober.
