Good evening all.
My hubbie is playing a small live pot limit rebuy tourney tmw,he has only ever played no limit tourneys before and was wondering if anyone has any advice for him on pot limit.

Also if there is 200 in the pot and its your turn to bet can you only bet the 200 or is your bet counted as part of the pot total??

thanks in advance

Advice would be to ask the dealer, what the pot is and what he can bet.

If the pot is 200 and its 50 to call then announce that you would like to raise, then put the 50 in making the pot 250 so then he can raise that much. Eventually after some time playing you will know that if you put 300 in then you have called and raised the pot.

Also if you raise UTG, its 7x the small blind size, if blinds are 25/50 and you want to raise the pot you put your 50 in plus 125 total of 175=7x25. hope that helped.

Pot limit: If in doubt ask dealer before you act what the pot is and say, should you wish "I raise the pot".

PL/NL is really only a distinction in the earlier stages of a comp when blinds are low. By the time blinds are high you will find fewer differences

In the early rounds, where you can only bet 200/300 and the pre flop all in is not a possibility, certainly not if you are the first to bet, then I would emphasise that the value of your big pairs falls (likely to be lots of opponents seeing the flop) and the value of drawing hands/suited connectors rises. This is because it is difficult for the made hand/big pair to bet the drawing hand out of the pot

Once the rebuy period finishes, revert to a no limit type game
