Tilting day Sad

Tried to buy into the 1k last night and was told we can ONLY buy in from 11am today (some stupid Spanish law??)

The casino doesn't open until 11am...and I had to meet the landlord to get the keys to our apartment at 11am also. Having sorted the apartment we got to the casino at 11.30 greeted by a queue of 100+ people ffs. 2 hours queuing later and 3 people away from the front the rather unhelpful casino employee tells us "tournament is full, you must leave now, tournament full"

Completely fuming and trying to explain to this woman there WILL be a waiting list and I would like to put my name on it, she refused and turned everyone away. Cutting a long story short we finally managed to speak to someone who had a clue and were put on an alternates list which eventually gave me a seat with 50 minutes of level 4 remaining (100/200 blinds).

It was not ideal but at least the tournament had over 1000 runners. Unfortunately it did not go too well. Table looked great and there were some very comedy hands. First important pot for us a big stack opened to 600 and a fish peeled the button. I peeled from the bb with A5dd and after the 842r one diamond flop went check, bet 1500, call 1500 I c/r to 4800 and folded when the first guy shoved Sad

Picked up a couple callers when I had JJ but won the pot with a cbet. Then I won a small pot with AA when I 4bet a min 3bet and got snap peeled but he folded to a cbet too. Then I lost an annoying hand squeezing from the bb with AQhh and getting called by the short stacked sb who was clearly inexperienced/fish. Wish he'd just shoved pre to make it easier but instead he peeled with 1.5x pot left. KKJr one heart flop and he gave out a big sigh (lol) I took this to be he flopped it. on the turn and he bet 1k into 4k, I called and folded to his 5k shove on a brick river and he triumphantly showed the K7o nh.

Coming back from the break not everyone was in their seats which left 2 dead blinds. I opened AQo from mp to 600 off of 8.9k and the hijack 3bet to 1375. Both blinds being dead made this a perfectly reasonable spot to shove imo ....but he had KK and we did not get there Sad

Next is the 2k saturday the field should be big and hopefully we can play from the start hassle free!

Sounds like it was just one of those days, Chris - hope it goes better today, & you don't have all that silly queueing hassle.

Good luck you.

Managed to register for the 2k the night before to avoid hassle on the day (someone saw sense and opened up reg for 24hrs on all comps now) but I did not last very long busting 10 mins into level 2 Sad

Utg opened to 250 @50/100, 2 people flatted and Eric cajelias squeezed the cutoff to 1k. I had AKo in the sb and we were both playing around starting stacks of 15k. Pretty happy to just 4bet and win the pot pre if I can bt he shoved as soon as the action came back around to him. Not thrilled getting it in but I called off and did not win the 30k flip vs JJ, despite actually hitting an ace. Left me with 600 chips, I doubled next hand KTs>K7o but then shoved 1250 w/KQs into AA and that was me done.

Disappointed to not get any kind of sweat out of these first 2 events but they were just the appetisers for the rest of the week so there is still a lot to look forward to.

This casino is a joke. Today was the 2k turbo but having failed to reg last night because registration was apparently not open, I went down there today in plenty of time only to find the event sold out. I then found out the cap was 64 players lol. I would have still liked to play but being this small we haven't missed out on too much value IMO.

I have registered for tomorrows €2150 event which is a non-turbo 12k chips/50 minute clock/150 player cap jobbie. It will almost certainly sell out and should be good value but it was not in the original package. It will not clash with the €10k on Thursday and the only reason I did not include it originally was because I had hoped to make day 2 of the main event (I didn't Sad)

I assume investors are ok with this and i will just use the same cost price/% sold as the turbo to make it easy and swallow the difference myself.

Perfectly happy with that Chris.

Gran Casino Barca always did suck, what a shame things do not seem to have improved.

Good luck.

Got off to a great start in today's 2k, Michael turiniec 4b/6b AJo all in vs my AA in the first level and I was winning pretty much every hand I played for the next 2hrs to get to 44k @150/300/25 from 12k starting. Then came a crucial pot...

I opened A8ss utg to 650 and both blinds peeled, flop  three clubs and when it checked to me I bet 900 into 2175. The sb then picked up some chips and kept adding to them in a kinda weak tell way before c/r to 3100. This guy was a spanish fish but not in a particularly crazy way just way too loose pre flop and a bit too cally post flop too. He'd shown a tendency to peel suited crap like J3ss, K5ss so I think in retrospect I should of just folded the flop and moved on to the next hand.....buuuut i felt pretty strongly he was just trying something on here and if he was I figured he'd bet the turn and then give up on river. I didn't think he would give me 3 barrels (he was a fish so I didn't think I'd get exploited).  turn he bet 4700 and I called,  river and he snap shoved all in for 15,750. I guess my plan all along was to fold river and it shouldn't really change much, except I'm not so sure he just snap shoves a flush once the board pairs. I was also considering the times he has T8s/98s etc and now thinks his hand is good. Really thought he'd bet like 8k or something if he had a flush. So he kinda polarises himself to 33/44. He then called the clock on me (usually strength) and while I basically didn't feel comfortable either way I decided to be a nit and folded.

He promptly turned over  Two Diamonds for no pair no draw. Obv felt like a mug but this wasn't exactly something I expected to see. We had no history between us before this and he hadn't shown any bluffs before so I'm not sure why this happened lol.

You can just never trust them!

I won a small pot very next hand with KJ on JT664 repping tilt by potting river but after that I did not make the best hand once.

I lost 77 vs 88 blind vs blind for 25bb, lost basically the minimum with QQ vs KK after flatting pre (was trying to induce a squeeze all in from one of the 3 20bb> stacks behind but it didn't happen and came AxxxK), then lost KJ vs AA when he found it off of 9bb. Bust out hand, good/aggro btn min opened off 18k @300/600/75 and I shoved 15k in the sb w/KQo into his AQo.

The comp had 260 runners in the end and I saw probably 4/5 of the most stupid hands I've ever seen not including any I was part of. People literally gave their chips away in this tournament. Shame the 72o guy didn't show some aggro craziness before that hand to give me a better reason to call Sad

Made day 2 of the high roller with 76k going back to 500/1k right around average chips with 75 ish players left and 12 paid. 1st place is €360k

Practically doubled up within 20 minutes today with 2 huge donations from the same French guy lol. Unfortunately when the 2 fish busted in the first level (despite rebuying - rebuy gives you a new table draw) my table was pretty tough all day, filled with good regs like brynkenny, dan smith, Kevin macphee, kriustalis andrulis. I played a lot of pots throughout the day but probably value cut myself too many times. I found myself getting most of my small bluffs through though so it wasn't all bad until I lost KK<AKo vs andrulis for 40k pot all in pre/xxxxA which would of given me 110k going into the last level of the day. Had a bad 15 minute spell where I 3b folded twice and raise folded a couple times to go down to 55k before winning 99>AKs all in pre vs dan smith; a tough man to beat in a flip Wink

With 5 hands remaining I played a big pot by peeling a 3bet in position deep w/87ss, called cbet on 664r and turned the mega draw when the hit. Was pretty confident he had AA/KK/QQ so would of been nice to hit the river there but it bricked and i had to fold but then won 3 of the remaining 4 hands to finish on 76k so I'm happy Smiley

Some run good tomorrow hopefully

Internet was down last night so couldn't update but I busted the 10k like 56th place or something 90 mins into day 2 Sad

Never got above the 76k I started the day with which was frustrating. Early on I peeled an open with 99 vs a good german online player and flop Q93sss, he bets I call, turn J he check calls 7k into 13k then leads 13k on river leaving me pretty handcuffed and I folded. Won most those chips back by squeezing A9s pre out the bb and cbetting in a couple other pots before the table broke. With 72k @600/1200 my new table looked decent despite being oop to 2 good players. I lost a pot vs Saar wilf where I opened A3o from co and cbet real small on AT4r, which he c/r after thought. I called thinking his vrange was very thin (44/A4/AT) and that my small cbet may have induced him. Turn Q he checks with a puzzled look on his face and calls my 1/6th pot bet I figured he had like KQ/QJ etc then river card J means I don't beat much at all. I considered bluff shoving him in for pot on the river when he checked but decided against it and checked thinking my hand could never really be good. He had ATss. Maybe coulda saved myself 3.5k by just checking back turn and folding rivers, and like I said maybe could bluff shove river to try make him fold 2 pair but I'm not sure if he would or not.

Lost another hand vs big stack old French guy splashing around playing too many hands where I 3b his mp open from the sb with KJs an made a bad cbet on 543hh. Flop like this I should just c/f vs him because he is too loose to only fire 1 cbet against and I do not really want to barrel off with no equity vs him either. Good player was in the bb so I'm completely fine with 3betting pre for value but yeh cost myself 7k by bet folding flop, sigh.

Bust out hand, I open 77 from utg+1/mp 7 handed, good player flats co, fish flats btn, fish flats sb and with 12k in there peter jetted squeezes the bb to 11.2k. We were both playing 48k and I think this is an excellent spot for him to squeeze. I'm sure he would realise this too although being a cash player I'm not too sure of how often he actually DOES squeeze. With the way the stacks are I just can't do anything except shove or fold any hand (hence why I think it's a good squeeze). Standing to win 22k by shoving I figured it was ok to shove 77 here, expecting no1 else to call behind ever, and the bb to call with like 99+/AK-AQ giving me like 35% equity or something when he does call. Given I will have that much equity I don't think he needs to be folding all that often to make the shove good. He called with AA though which didn't end too well.

Don't think im playing my best right now so I apologise for that, but I really was looking forward to this week and I've come away pretty tilted. Taking a few days off for a family holiday (even missing Sundays lol!). Thanks for the stake.
