I have heard a rumour that Beckham kicks a flaming ball to light the Olympic torch, later Friday evening

Any markets on who lights the torch?

Surely Redgrave would be above Beckham in the pecking order, he's an Olympian to start with.  Would have thought we'd go for our greatest ever Olympian personally.

Traditionally it's an Olympian anyway http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_people_who_have_lit_the_Olympic_Cauldron That said, he wouldn't be the first non-Olympian to do it.

North Korea football currently at Hampden

Refusing to start game as the stadium is displaying the S Korea flag as theirs!

True, but England is the home of football.

Becks doing a Diana Ross wouldn't surprise me.

Is it on tele?  I may have a punt on Korea, they're quite well ranked and Columbia aren't.  Not a skilled pick, just a random punt at 1/2

Surreal image of a trained sheep lighting the Olympic flame! I'm so expecting Danny Boyle to throw in some eccentric & bizarre stuff into the opening ceremony.

Lay the favourites in the marathons I don't think a favourite has ever won the Olympic marathon,

Back Paula @ more than 25/1 to win.  There's doubt as to whether she'll actually run or not - which is why she's at such long odds.  If she does run, she's definitely one of those in with a shout. Worth a little sweat I'd have thought.
