Lol, and the even sicker thing is, I don't even care. I haven't even paying any attention to this league, I just thought I was dead in every league.
Lost every side bet (here and elsewhere) in a massacre.

A few weeks ago when I was working out how many more wins would guarantee me the title, and I noticed that the fixtures ended at week 35!

You must not have made the business end last season because it was the same format, I think there was even discussion at the start of this thread as to whether we would do the same again, the main concensus was that this would give more people a sweat.

Yes, it wasn't a factor for me last season and I didn't spot all the early discussion on the thread until I went back afterwards.  I just signed up for both games once I'd sorted out my teams.

It is what it is, and it's all clear in the thread, so I'm not complaining about it.  Just more of a FML comment and Sod's law that this happens to be the season I run away with the league!

FWIW, in future seasons I'd suggest giving 3rd place money to the league winner (which I'll likely never be again!), rather than a losing semi-finalist but that's a choice for another day.

Format works great for the NFL (where it belongs) by the way so I'll just have to dodge bullets Hellmuth-style now to the end!

No I haven't ever, but maybe I should have added him a few weeks ago to mask the peoples teams that I was 175 points ahead of, now less than 100 ahead and starting to look over my shoulder a touch, couldn't even convert that Zabaleta clean sheet on Sat which would have made all the difference in the H2H.

Fair enough. Pretty sick how you've ended up there in H2H when smashed the league. Think I lost my first 3 games in that and 4th now, and won this week too.

I guess you'll have to copy everyone else next week with Kone as captain to protect that lead!

Ha, feel your pain, I had two Citeh defenders who lost cleanies and then had QPR/Stoke keep clean sheets when my defenders didn't play, although Samba not playing was possibly the cause of the first and I knew Wilson  probably wouldn't play.

H2H has been a disaster this season (although I got in 8/8 last season due to a fortuitous bonus point so variance etc) I've got a 16/1/17 record in the Blonde Leaugue whereas (to use an example) ACE2M has a 21/1/12 record and in our H2H league i'm 21-14 to the good against him.

Also last year's final table just for reference...FWIW I think it's going to take more points to finish in the top four this year than Gazza won the league with last season. Although I can't remember if they've tweaked the scoring system at all this year? And, in actual real terms, Brent finished ~16,000 in the world last year, whilst to finish in the money this season you're going to need a top 10k finish for sure.
