The WarBwastard League Cup Second Round
discomonkey v. Tal

1. The Scottish Premier League was founded in 1998, name 4 of the 10 all time top scorers in the league? (4 answers only)

discomonkey 0 - 1 Tal

2. The German Bundesliga consists of how many clubs?

discomonkey 1 - 2 Tal

3. Seven clubs have played every season of the English Premier League (since '92/'93), name 6 of them? (6 answers only)

discomonkey 2 - 3 Tal

4. Not including England, which of the home nations is highest on FIFA's World Rankings?

discomonkey 3 - 3 Tal

5. Which Premier League player is this playing for his country?

discomonkey 3 - 3 Tal

Tie-Break: Add the number of points Celtic gained last season to the number of points Man City gained, and then subtract Darren Fletcher's Man United shirt number?

discomonkey 3 - 3(TB) Tal

A great match as discomonkey, recently relegated to League Two, pushed Premier League player Tal right to the wire with Tal sneaking the victory on the tie-break which he actually got exactly right. The picture haunted discomonkey and it proved to be his downfall as a correct answer would have seen him progress to the quarters.

Here are the full results of the 2nd round of the WarBwastard League Cup. You may notice that pleno1 and AceHighSuited drew 0-0, neither submitted answers. This means that dino1980 progresses to the quarter finals as a lucky loser. Quarter-finalists are bolded below and the draw will commence in my next post.

pleno1 0-0 AceHighSuited
superwomble 3-5 craigbetts
horseplayer 5-3 toddswain
MintTrav 1-5 TightEnd
Longy 4-0 ForthThistle
Rubbish2407 4-3 Silo Graham
sweet potata! 5-4 dino1980
discomonkey 3-3(TB) Tal

..........craigbetts

A good clash between two Championship players who both have two titles to their name. craigbetts might have a slight edge, having featured in the Premier League in Season Four.

................. sweet potata!

Tal will take on the current League Two champion, and lowest ranked remaining player, and will surely start a strong favourite.

Four names left in the hat, and can the "Big Two" avoid each other?Huh?

Not the home draw I would have liked but away to a big prem team isn't too bad, should be a great day out for the fans and a nice little earner for the club kitty!

The 5th name out the hat, and forming one half of the 3rd tie, is........

TightEnd

The two-time Premier League winner has enjoyed a relatively straight-forward cup run to date but now faces either horseplayer, Longy or Rubbish2407........
