Busy in the thread tonight so seems like a good time to launch the blonde Football Quiz Association Cup. TightEnd won the WarBwastard League Cup but now it is time for the biggy, the cup everyone wants to win.

Twenty players will take part. There will be 4 ties in the first round with the 4 winners joining up with the 12 first round byes to make up the final 16 players. As with the previous cup, ties will consist of 5 questions and a tie-break.

Coming up in the next 5 minutes we will have the draw for the 1st and 2nd rounds live in the thread.

..... sweet potata!

Veteran sweet potata! has played every season barring the first and has an average of 8.3, a very solid player and should be the favourite in this clash although Toasty92 is relatively unexposed.

It's Tal in an all Premier League tie.

Tal has only missed one season, Season 10, and has gathered a 10.6 average and could prove a tricky first round clash for the pre-tournament favourite.

The third tie will see Ruud who has 3 seasons experience and a solid enough 7.7 average taking on......

..... superwomble.

superwomble has played every season of the quiz and has an average of 5.6 with a top score of 8, scored in Season Two. Looking at the stats, he might start as a slight underdog against Ruud.

ruud v. superwomble

The fourth and final first round tie will see sharplea take on.....

The Tal FC skipper faces sanctions for comments made on the social network site Twitter about the FQA Cup draw. In a shocking 140 character rant, he questioned why seedings aren't employed and seemed to suggest warm balls had been used in the draw to ensure "premium ties" for the TV.

A second tweet then incredibly described the FQA President S. T. Harry as being "clearly drunk. Rubbin his eyes? We all no wots goin on #riggeddraw"

The tweets have since been removed and the club has declined to comment.

......... bryceland, in what is another all premier league clash.

sharplea has played every season and has an average of 11.7 and has scored 14 points on 3 occasions whilst bryceland is a newer player but has progressed to the Premier League in the 4 seasons and amassed a 9.3 average. sharplea is the favourite but a close match is likely.
