Etiquette when player sits out during HU play?

Evening, just wondering what everyone thinks you should do when your opponent suddenly sits out?
It obviously auto folds their sb but should you limp from the button every time and then check it down? I waited most of the time before limping but did take it down on the flop. Should I have just passed the blinds between us, that could have gone on for hours?
Do stacks / blinds make a differance?

raise every hand and turn the chat off...then you dont have to read the moaning about loss of connection when they come back and you've rinsed their stack.....it's dog eat dog online.

I think online where most of the time we don't know our opponent, I wouldn't feel too scummy to take advantage of this. It's your opponents responsibility to be at the table, although he may be unfortunate to get disconnected at times, it's a situation that you'll come across often, especially if you play the HU turbo touneys that you should just grasp the opportunity. It may feel like stealing but there's no way of telling that your opponent wouldn't do the same to you.
If it was a rare occurrence of a live HU match, I think we can be a bit more courteous and give our opponent the chance to get back to the table. Online just feels like its populated with people who want to squeeze every edge and take every advantage possible so I think you have to be relentless to keep up.
Min-raise every button as fast as possible and smile every time you get the walk.
Although sometimes your opponent gets back just in time to be left with very few chips and makes a massive comeback to win which feels like karma has just bitch slapped you across the face.

hu in an mtt ill give them a break for 5 mins to get their connection but if it takes too long ill just start raising and have automuck on..... if they are a random
if i know them and dislike them, ill insta start raising, if i like them ill try and contact them elsewhere by text or something and give them every opportunity to come back
i feel like i would expect the other person to at least give me the chance to reconnect, so i will offer them teh same courtesy

Once4 you reach stakes with regulars, you should try and wait for them, esp in HU cash or the like. At low stakes, you should try and win as quickly as possible. Reciprocity is the point here, if they would wait for you, do the same, or if there is a degree of common courtesy between the two of you.

It's not possible to take advantage of a player sitting out in HU cash in any way is it? Only mid-pot if they lose connection in which they have disconnection time bank which once it has run out you can bet.

Cheers,
He got back just for the last hand where he hurled some abuse and lost, hope he's not at my table at the Chipleader.

Yeah, snap betting when your opponent has timed out. Controversy if you would bluff but he dcs etc, i think giving him sometime to re-connect should be standard reaally, but doubt it at low stakes.

Click the space over the raise button until your mouse has smoke coming from it and sets on fire. Or you win. If they come back just lol at them
