There is the Guernsey Pound Note which is not accepted in the UK if that helps

There are other 'Pound' Currencies  eg Egyptian.
However, as there are no other European Pounds, reading the question, i think it is acceptable to allow Pounds as correct in this instance.

It's some sort of sub-type of sterling. So pound remains unique to sterling. Answers such as this would have been whaled to sterling.
