Certainly not writing the Falcons off, in fact I think they should be very marginally favourites. I don´t think the pre-November defeats in domes have much relevance to this game. Seattle are a totally different team on both sides of the ball since they let Wilson play more expansively.

Thinking this is the hardest game to predict in the quarters (Pats and Broncos should get through)
Sad end to the Redskins season last night, was clear that RG3 was struggling from the end of the last quarter (cheap shot hit as well), thinking we could have probably put up another 13 points with Cousins and the Mazda man running.
Looking forward to next season when the Skins get healthy, think we can make a Super Bowl run

I see the Cowboys have fired The Dude as Defensive Coordinator.

Thoughts Tighty?  Good move, bad move?

At least Garrett might get some facetime TV coverage now.  Ryan must have out-featured him by about 3:1.

A bit irrelevant really. No chance of appointing a proper GM or a Head Coach who will stand up to the owner/GM, after all

Ryan lost a lot of the defence to season ending injuries, so it could be argued he's a bit unlucky

However, in the interests of making the whole thing less of a circus, probably a good thing

Any team in the NFC East has to be structured on defence to beat RG3 (once he's back) to stand a chance of winning the division. As over two games we showed no clue at al in stopping his read-option, Ryan has probably paid the price of that

Interesting listening to Ross Tucker talk about RG3's injury (supposedly a partial tear of LCL and ACL).

He think's a partial tear of the ACL could be the worst scenario, as they only surgically repair full tears, so rehab is the only option but it then becomes a bit of a lottery as to how stable the knee is in future.

Thoughts on backing HOU +9.5? I was expecting the line to be a bit shorter...

I think they´ll have a lot of trouble scoring points with the way Schaub is playing and Bellicheck and Brady´s NE tend to be really ruthless in spots like this. Having said that they are the better "side" of the bet imo.

I´m more interested in Baltimore getting the same start at Denver, two excellent running backs (important at altitude) and a hugely experienced defense that may well be able to slow Manning down. Denver will be very strong late on and they think they´ll win but I do feel it will be close.

Comedy american stat of the week contender:

Manning is 0-3 in postseason games where the temperature at kickoff is below 40 degrees. In those games with the Indianapolis Colts -- including a 41-0 loss to the New York Jets in January 2003, and a pair of losses to the New England Patriots in January of 2004 and 2005 -- Manning has thrown just one touchdown to seven interceptions.

Another one which I am not sure on...

On Betfair - LAY Broncos -15.5 £100 to win £30?

Also noticed that the general line is -9.5 but bwin go -10/5 Broncos/+10.5 Ravens - which one is the better bet? Albeit Broncos are Evens whilst Ravens are 3/4 on.

Always loved the dream team concept since I was a kid. This isn´t a team for the ages though. Like the Defensive ends but aside from Earl Thomas the safety´s are a mediocre bunch imo.

Neil Reynolds hits the nail on the head for me: do you want to be the guy who lets down Ray Lewis?

Or Ed Reed? All time greats. I watch Ed Reed highlights on you tube all day before a game like this, he is just amazing.

It was a really impressive interview with Lewis. Nice to hear someone say discipline in the team is down to the players to police and that includes trouser waist height.
