Good idea to ask this fundamental question before doing 4 months work imo

I was talking to a friend of mine at the weekend. A major household named brand, "wasted" 60k on doing some work with his company last week. it involving an advert involving the Olympic village.....of course no one from the company bothered checking they were allowed to use the back drop of the Olympic trademarks etc. !!
