Pretty hard to question the mental side of his game now. The way he's playing at the minute he can win 5+ Slams now he's got that first one. Be amazing if he can finish the year as World number one.

Well deserved and brilliant to hear Scotland the Brave ring out in the Stadium.

Boris Becker had to leave before the end to fly to the EPT.

Critics will say the draw opened up for him and the extra day's rest helped. However, no one will ask him in years to come whether Nadal was fit.
No reason why he can't challenge in the Australian.
It's so important that he continues to be aggressive in his game. He is a much better player when he is the one pushing than when he sits back.
It wasn't a great standard the first two or three sets, but when the wind slowed down, they were brilliant.
Hats off. Well done that man.

So Scotland has the most successful british Olympian of all time, the best ever british tennis player and arguably the greatest ever football managers and players to have come from these shores.
2014 #indyref vote yes.

Will we be able to repatriate all of your politicians if you win?

Not so sure, Scotland is always been put down not only by detractors of Independence but by people within the country as well.
Personally I believe big sporting achievements like this may wrongly stir the nation to vote yes. To paraphrase Oleta Adams "I don't care how you get there, just - get there if you can"
I know some of the posts in this thread were in jest but they, imo encompass a feeling of how Scotland is often looked down on by many from England.

With respect, I think some of the time there's an inferiority complex chip on the national shoulder too. It invents the notion of the English feeling superior and harks back to issues from several hundred years ago to validate current perceived issues
(stands back, realises has opened can of worms)
Anyway, fantastic stuff last night by Murray. Hopefully he can bag a few more
Murray, Djok, Fed and Rafa all at once, enjoy it while we can!

Good to see the West Lothian Question making an appearance on the US Open final thread!
