20/17 after 75 hands. Anything but fold? Flat pre? I don't really flat anything out of the blinds atm.

Poker Stars $0.25/$0.50 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players -
DeucesCracked Poker Videos Hand History Converter

BTN: $50.00
Hero (SB): $50.00
BB: $102.28
UTG: $53.25
MP: $49.94
CO: $59.08

Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero is SB with
UTG raises to $1.50, 3 folds, Hero raises to $5, 1 fold, UTG calls $3.50

Flop: ($10.50) two hearts (2 players)
Hero bets $5.50, UTG raises to $11, Hero?

50/50 after 17, attempt to steal 3/5. Not sure of line and i think my sizings are prob bad, don't really have much of a clue whether they are or not.

Hand 1. 3betting JJ from the blinds vs a 20/17 UTG opener is a bit spewy. I'd flat and play some poker posflop. On the flop... well, make the right guess I suppose, whatever that is.

Hand 2. Your sizings are a bit wrong. Half pot, half pot, jam river or close to pot, overbet jam turn are the two schemas you should usually use in 3bet pots with ~100bb stacks.

If you had half potted flop and turn you'd have a nice bet size for a river jam if you decided to make it (whether you should or not is another issue). As played opponent will likely look you up with any Q or any Ahx because he will be getting a great price and a draw has missed. You're beating all his non paired flush draws so no point in betting to fold them out. So check. You will get to SD and win with K high some of the time.

Interesting thing is what to do if you check and he bets. Given the wet board and stack sizes on the turn you'd think that villain would very likely jam the turn with anything he could legitimately value bet the river with. Which would mean when he bets the river you'd expect him to have a reasonable amount of missed draws. So, given the price you are getting, hero calling the river might well be profitable. You'll lose more often than you win obviously but you are getting a good price.

And also, just check fold the flop in hand 2. This flop hits his range hard, plus you have little equity with which to help pay for barrelling future streets. This is a bad combination of factors, so c/f is best. Obviously if you know villain has an overly wide preflop range, or you know he is highly straightforward/fit-or-fold in 3bet pots, you can cbet somewhat recklessly here and turn a profit. Without this read you do need to be giving up with part of your range, and KJo is one of those hands.

If Pleno, with his image, is going to struggle to 3bet JJ for value in this spot... then it is likely most of us are going to struggle even more.

you could jsut make it like $40 and he thinks you misclicked and gets it in with 88+ aq+ but calling is probably best.

Is this part of poker? For me this is an angle I would never ever pull.

Saying that this is an angle you would never pull is an angle that I would never pull.

Making a betsize to lead your opponents into bad decisions inst an angle.

Making it $40 then putting on a massive show and dance about the terrible mistake you've made, is an angle.

i do stuff like this in lots of situations.

pretty great one yesterday.

stack size 15k effective

i flat 65dd otb, flop k105dxx i call cbet

turn is Two Diamonds check/check

river is

he checks

piot is 1500 and i bet 12222 to make it look like a 1222 misclick. In live tournies fake misclicks just whole part of levels.

It's basically saying, should i really bluff here, is it fair im lying about my hand etc.

In spots where you're ahead of their range and its a tight range should try to get as much money in immediately instead of scare cards coming or falling behind.

Just generally ofc
