What does Westwood need to do to get dropped?
Probably have enough others in the team who have to get picked (though the premediated leaving out of Donald and Poulter yesterday afternoon wasn't great captaincy, I think)
Colsaerts apart, they weren't exactly knocking the door down
When it comes to singles, just can't see Europe getting enough points out of Lawrie, Hanson, Kaymer etc to win this
With no rough, it basically comes down to a game of who can out-putt the other
, looks like the US comprehensively win that one, so well done DL3 with the course set up really
That's why leaving Poulter and Donald - Europe's best two putters - out yesterday was a bit silly.
I don't think Europe would have got anything out of the top 2 games whoever played yesterday though.
So 5-3 was about as good as we could hope for.
Just need a couple of the yanks to cool off overnight.

Agreed Keith
Not sure what other people's views are, but I find Parkland target golf a bit formulaic. Give me bad weather/big rough, funky course design and players needing to think about course management any time
Pending some of our players getting hot and turning this around, the course is really no test for these US rookies. Which I suppose is the plan by DL3!

Completely agree, Tighty.
330yard drive, short iron and two putt on concrete. Links courses in September are way more fun to watch.

Personally i think we were never going to win this Ryder Cup with the type of course and the way it is set up. Its a bombing a putting contest, which in general the americans will be better in. He has to leave Westwood out as he cant putt and also same applies to Garcia. Donald and Poulter have to play as does 3G.. Either way we cant win

Just a bit.
What view do you have on backing Nick Colsaerts again today, @ 5/4?

I've never seen him play foursomes and Garcia looked very suspect on the greens yesterday even with the rock that is Donald as his partner so not really tempted to bet on that match myself.
I suggest that you just go with what is in your pants.

Fair point. His game just looks way off at the minute. We all know he can't putt but his iron play is usually so strong that he gets plenty of chances but he wasn't threatening the pin at all yesterday. We are carrying too many players whereas only Stricker and Tiger look "off" for the Americans.
Agree with regards to the course set up.

Won't be much then, just loose change really.

What does Westwood need to do to get dropped?
It's a good question, big blow for the Woods/Donald E/W double backers the way things have worked out (it looked a great bet). Garcia has a foursomes shocker then Donald sits out the afternoon. Woods has a complete nightmare foursomes then Stricker plays the worst driving round of his life in the fourballs, then Tiger sits out and then Donald gets handicapped with Westwood (obviously there are good things about this partnership as a foursome). Backers of this bet could barely run worse, the win part is basically down before a ball has been struck on the second day. That seeemed an impossibility yesterday morning.
Yes, yesterday was horrible. Probably my biggest ever golf bet - and I could not see ANY way I wouldn't have a sweat; tbh the EW part is pretty dead as well if you look at pairings this morning, Tiger can't get a place - even with two wins it would need a miracle. Hey ho - time to just cheer on the boys.
I can see us winning this next session; not quite sure what logic I am following by put 3-1

Can any point out any good value in any of the markets for the foursomes this morning? Otherwise I might just put a bit on us to win the session.

based on the bf mid-points for all the matches the match odds should be
us 2.62
eu 2.66
tie 3.97
actual
us 2.72
eu 2.54
tie 4
So either one of the individual match prices is wrong or the session price is wrong
