Six left in the DTD £500 satellite - 5 seats on offer, zilch for 6th

Shove? Fold? Something else?

It's been a frustrating time lately with the real shorties getting in and getting there...

Close between a shove and a fold for me, probably leaning towards the shove. Very player dependent.  The short-stack still has ten bigs, and there are two of you with around 20bbs.  The larger stacks in the blinds are going to be hurt if they call and lose the hand, so they're only going to be calling with a very narrow range (unless you know better).

This was my thinking as well. They should all have very narrow calling ranges of course so the shove is going to be +cEV and you don't yet have a seat locked up and still need to pressure the shorter stacks, not yet in a position to fold into the money.

However we do only get called by better I think and if called we are likely to be dominated (don't see any of them except maybe the shortstack) calling with AK here? I find this dynamic hard.

Dave,

Think its a relatively easy raise/ call vs the shorty and raise/fold vs rest.

I've been told we should be raise/folding all the way down to 15bb's and in this spot you can't do anything else.

It really really sucks to go out. Would we open fold 77 by the way? Just think with the chance we get peeled

I'd be raise folding 77-10's and raise calling JJ+, open folding <66.

If TL900 says its ok then I'm fine with it. Tongue

people peel wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much on this stupid site to min r imo. Think I would fold just cuz people make too many mistakes on there especially in the satellites that you can just wait a little imo. would shove QQ+ prob. Im not entirely sure though. Fold AK for sure

I wouldn't normally try so hard, but didn't have another opportunity I could wait for. I wasn't ready to surrender what I WANTED SO MUCH, that easily, I couldn't guarantee a call with me staying stoic and relying on a flinch "top pair" calling reflex.
