and i don't need berating for my failure to c-bet the flop or the chat thanks :p

just wondering how many would call the allin here as played? and how many would fold leaving a playable stack still...

Are you implying you would of called a pot bet?

i think i would *have* to. in my experience anyway pot sized river bets from regs in this sort of spot are almost bang on 50-50 bluffs vs nuts

big overbets however i just don't know...
big overbets at small stakes happen all the time with missed draws and i tend to snap these, but i'm faced with big overbets so infrequently at mid/higher stakes that i don't really know where i stand here. the last one i called with wheel straight KO'ed me on a FT bubble with a straight to the 6. i know regs are getting a bit crazy with FE shoving on stars at least but i felt i had a stack i could still work with by folding, felt sets, 33 and A3s were all well in his range, so i did fold in this case...

what would you have done here?

Ach I wouldn't worry about being berated Rob, rarely does that happen. Interesting hand btw. Smiley

Yeh pretty gross spot, correct fold to a small pp imo.

May I ask what stats you and villain were running at the time?

I mean as std he's rarely flatting AK pre, and he rarely jams worse A's on this particular river once you've flatted the turn, so don't really see what we beat.

I would say though, that once we've checked the flop, I would prefer to see a check on the turn too.

i don't use an HUD. he was an active Supernova reg i've played with quite a bit, i was also rel active, sl less so than him, but would still say i was playing loose preflop and tight post on the whole. we had been 7 handed most of the time and we had seen lots of flops but rarely gone to showdown, don't think i'd seen juarnes get to showdown more than a couple of times and he had it both occasions, hence his larger stack.

Think it's an easy fold. Doubt he's trying to get you to fold an ace here.

definitely wasn't an easy fold for me, i tanked a full minute... but i thought it was the correct fold.

so 3/3 people here vote fold so far. anyone think we should call?

Don't see any big plus sides to calling.. Overbets are scewed towards big hands 'normally'.

Obv dont ever chat, I would also think about what I would do on the river when he raises turn.  Seems like we just gave him an extra 1000.

in my experience when people raise a card 'I' should hit... They've just had it.  Whatever it was.

Smiley UL tho, gross spot.

In this spot I don't think 8k is any different to 26k, don't think we're ever winning if he pots or overpots the river.

Personally think you got a bit unlucky and have to make the laydown.

  • Fold.

Seems even more unlikely that a supernova would take such a freak line as a bluff. Your hand is genuinely face up so he's likely pegged you as a someone who may not to be able to to fold an absolute value hand, hence him going for the whole biscuit on the river. Good fold imo.
