Back in about 1995 me and a mate applied for the job at Bolton - citing our considerable Championship Manager experience as a recipe for success.

We didn't hear back.

They gave the job to Roy McFarland, who got sacked after 6 months.

I seem to remember Notts County once only got applications from people citing Championship Manager experience.
