Well done Julian, was good to see you again as always. Did fancy you for minimum second. That Tim fella flopped sets for fun and ran so well he seemed to have his name on it from 2 tables in. Still €28k + a fantastic result.

tx for the rail & kind words guys,

was thrilled to final table, messed up on a few levels when we got short handed, more lessons learnt  Roll Eyes

& ul ant, over pairs are never the easiest to play, especially when your opponent looks like he's been hustling to run up a stack,

off to the play 1500 at the masterclassics in amsterdam on friday for old times sake...does anyone go anymore?

It was great seeing you in work tbh. You dealth with the aggressor on our table very well, picking great spots to 3 bet and win most of the hands you contested with him.

I had a brain fart, if i am going to be honest. If i was online and could visually see both our stacks pre hand i doubt i would have been in such a quandary #livegamenoob

Also, refreshing to hear you too are making mistakes and learning from them, makes me feel much less of a nob, and that mistakes can happen to the best of us. WP another great flag.

Nice work Jules.

I may be at Masterclassics on Sunday so poss see u there mate.

Ant - not sure if we have met but you're pretty unlucky that an A or K hasn't flopped. I've been trying to work out how u lose the minimum there with a 50bb stack pre flop, only by checking flop, calling 15k on turn and 60k ish on river I guess, that wud be a pretty scared way to play QQ versus Julian. Alternatively call his 42k on flop and fold turn possibly. Tough situation for u and go me thinking what the optimum play is, maybe it's to bust out!

I once talked to him about this, it seems when you mix Ireland and Nottingham you get a weird Bristolian accent.

I never knew Mrs Thew was Irish! She hails from Central England as far as I know, speaks posh & everything.

Julian lived in Dublin for most of his life, & moved back to the UK as an adult.

His Mum, Dad, & brother Graham (a better player than Jules, but not as lucky.....) all still live in Dublin.

Dubliners consider Jules one of their own, & quite rightly.
