Unfortunate result for Blackpool against Barnsley, I've read the write ups on their forums which obviously say they were unlucky etc.
Wondering if Curtis was there and his thoughts on the game beyond being delighted with another 3 points of course
Not there today, as it was Grace's christening this morning. Even without that, they restricted ticket sales for away fans due to problems with supporters falling through the floor of their away stand (so definitely would be a high risk candidate!)
Listened to the commentary and it sounds like we continued the new modus operandi - soak up whatever the home team throws at us and then hit them on the counter, this time twice.
Including cup games, thats P7 W5 D1 L1 since Flitcroft has been in charge as caretaker and then as manager. Loving Jason Scotland so far, and looking forward to seeing Rory Delap launch some long throws for us, rather than against us for once!

Much nicer way to spend the day anyway
I've been spending as much time on their forum as I was yours the last few weeks and they're saying that the club is falling apart...
They seemed to think that they had the majority of the attacking play, but failed to convert as per usual and then you hit them with a couple breakaways.
I've got a fair bit on Thompson for the position, it's looking similar to the coup with Flitcroft and I was hoping he could get a result today. The draw would have been good given the keeper sacrificed himself and I was happy at 1-1.
Still, nobody appears to want into Oyston's lair and Thompson is happy to just crack on. He's been there 5 games now and the results don't really reflect the team performances that I can see.
Players all want him, he wants it and the chairman is a nit, so hopefully he'll leave him as is for another month

Looking as a neutral (and pretending I wasn't one of the posters) if we look at the last two posts Barnsley might be an interesting bet next week at the Riverside at a big price. Would expect to see 5/1+ and that would definitely be value in my book.

Watford pretty ordinary today, but managed to get the 3 points which is the sign of a good team I guess. Bolton derserved a point for me.
Battochio is becoming a bit of a midfield titan. Got all the skill and doesn't mind the rough and tumble either.
Top 5 have a little breathing space now. Boro and Brighton both less consistent.

No idea how Cardiff won today, had less chances than leeds.
Gifted them a goal and had a pen denided, guess that might go up this season with wins like that,

Those Tuesday games?
Mali beat SA, so Dikagcoi is available for Friday. Mile Jedinak is still a doubt with a fractured cheekbone after the Alan Lee elbow. If he does play, it will be in a mask.
I don't know what to expect against Watford on Friday, I really don't.

I have seen Cardiff this season
I could not believe they beat us
They have a terrific goalkeeper, a very good defence and a bit of class in Whittingham and Bellamy
They set up perfectly to grind out away results
Speaking to a Cardiff season ticket holder today, he says they aren't that good a side, workmanlike rather than exciting but Mackay has them drilled to a tee and they are very tough to beat, clearly
I don't see them finishing out of the top two. Two of the sides 10+ pts behind them aren't going to get 11 more points than them in less than 20 games

Would second that Tighty.
They are the ultimate grinders of this league, on the up and believing they will win regardless of how well they are playing.

Cardiff win irrespective of performance. It's in the Championship guidance notes.

I assume the International games will be Weds? (well for the senior Internationals Vydra, Pudil, Nosworthy and Ekstrand).
Doubt those 4 will be able to manage more than 45 mins against Palace, but Battochio/Chalobah/Hoban may be okay if they play U21s on Tuesday. Doubt Smith or Murray would feature anyway.
So on that basis we are looking at:
Almuina
Casetti
Hall
Doyley
Hoban
Forsyth (?)
Chalobah
Battochio
Abdi
Deeney
Forestieri

Starting to think we'll have Watford, as we had a terrible run and then a superb galvanising result from a terrible first half but a magnificent second. So I think its one of those where we are going to beat whoever it is that is in our way next, as we are on the up. A shame you lot are so tasty.
Should be a magnificent game.

I'm considering a bet on Palace to be honest. Partly due the international call ups, and partly because I don't like some of the matchups. If Holloway plays a cautious game and uses the pace of Zaha and Bolassie on the break I think they may prosper. The worse thing Holoway can do is go on the attack as that will play into our strengths, but I imagine a manager of his quality will have done his homework. One of those where I think Palace are probably value but am happy to lose the bet as this really feels an important game.

Tis huge.
Really looking forward to it.
As an aside I would like to mention how in the whole of the second half we played a 442, and we swept Charlton aside.
Not sure what formation Holloway is going to use. Plus I can't see Dikagcoi and Jedinak in the centre of a 442.
