Chalobah is absolute gravy imo. Has to go in the Champo team of the season.

I haven't seen Chalobah in full force as I haven't really had the opportunity to, but it is interesting to see that Mile Jedinak isn't drawn in the same sort of love as he. I would imagine Chalobah is better, and it must be how young he is and how he is being groomed into the Chelsea setup. But in terms of effectiveness while playing, how you describe Chalobah being so important in your team, Jedinak is as important, if not more to Palace.

I think it is because he started so slowly with us and is apparently only coming to his prime now at the age of 28, that others looking in are still not taking him very seriously at all. You take Jedinak out of the middle of the park and we really are spineless. Just need to look at how we played recently with him out of the team. We won 2-1 against Charlton, but were dominated in the first half and they really had loads of chances to have us beat before Kevin Phillips came on and spurred Murray to score two. And we drew with Watford 2-2 away. I doubt we would have been as flimsy in the midfield defensively in the first half with him in the team. We were on top for most of the game, but that was because I think Watford collapsed to our pressure and sometimes that happens, odd how they were no real threat there, can't imagine that has happened to often to them recently.

Just thought that I would mention Jedinak, as I think he needs more love, as I am not sure many on this forum rate him too highly.

jedinak is a ford focus running at his full capacity very consistent but never going to improve past his current level imo

chalobah is a rolls royce potentially to be controlling games in the middle at his age at ny level is impressive

I would have thought that, but over the last year he has improved so much that I wouldn't be surprised if next year he gets better.

Yeh I agree on Chalobah, if he is as good as he is at this age his rise of getting better is incomparable to that of a 28 year old, but all I was trying to get out there is Jedinak is a beast and one of the three key players for us in him, Zaha and Murray.

There was talk after the two draws against Stoke in the FA cup that Pulis was nearing a £2m offer to take him up north, but it never materialised, but apparently he was monstrously good over those two games. It does make me think his future is in the premierleague next year, if not for us than for a bottom half side.

Holloway cannot be the only one recognising his talent. I would say your analagy of the Ford Focus is without properly knowing what he is currently about? Have you seen much of him? Or have you looked at his age and past experience and woeful start at Palace before, to judge what his current ability and future ability will be like?

Obv not angry just putting up a debate. I find it weird too how he has come into his own this year and is quickly putting himself in the reckoning as one of Palace's greatest defensive midfielders on current ability. He would need to spend another 3 or 4 years before we realise if this year was a flash in the pan or not. I don't think you would get much argument from Palace fans on that. Waiting for Matt50 to chime in though to bring me back down to earth... Smiley

yes i have seen him about ten times this season

he doesn't excite me though he is obviously playing well and gives his all in every game

it is a bit pointless having this debate as you are very blinkered towards palace (which is fine)

from what you are saying he will/could go onto be a leading premiership midfielder

not a chance in hell in my opinion but you never no in football

Fair play. I am probably excited about him because we have been missing a player like him in the middle for a while, and like I have said I really don't have that much knowledge of other teams in the Championship, especially their defensive midfielders, so I am not even best placed to draw comparisons. So take the opinion of that I am blinkered, as correct.

I haven't seen Jelinek enough to comment on him, but I think Chalobah is nearly on par with Obi Mikel and Romeu already, and would should feature heavily for Chelsea next year (or as many games as someone like Bertrand for example).

I think he'll be a shock inclusion in Englands World Cup squad.

Is there any way of getting a price on Chalobah to be in England's world cup squad by the way?

Skybet has a market on who'll make the 2014 WC squad but don't quote Chalobah.

If you ring them and ask for a price, they should oblige. Let us know if you get one?

Chalobah added at 10/1.  Thoughts Chompy?  Seems a bit skinny considering he has never made a Chelsea appearance!

About what I'd have expected tbh, they'll always go on the low side when someone requests a player to be added to this sort of market.

I wouldn't put you off at that price. Wilshire and Chalobah ftw!

Holloway really is turning into a tool of the highest order.  He just can't let it go.   I used to like Palace before this clown kept shooting his mouth off.

No league fixture for us tomorrow (just the potential massacre in Manchester to worry about) so it's a weekend of hoping results go our way.

There's a reasonable chance we'll be bottom by the time we kick off tomorrow, albeit with games in hand.  Massive psychological boost for us if we're not.

Quite ironic because you seem to not be able to let it go on this thread! Smiley

I think he is just pissed off that he hadn't thought about doing something similar himself as he loves a good loan. Probably wouldn't be well connected enough to get the sort of calibre of player you have at Watford currently anyway so fair play to you.

I think of all the people to seemingly be the figurehead of the fight against the loophole in the loan system it really shouldn't be Holloway, just as he has maxed out his loans himself, and most of them are proving very effective.

Personally I say fair play to you and in no way would I feel aggrieved about your loans if you had won promotion over us.

It would be a bit of a joke too as we have 5 first team loans in ourselves in Zaha, Dobbie, Richards, Butterfield and Phillips.

Going to be an interesting finale. Made even better is Cardiff continue to slump and one of us has a shot at the title! How about that?!
