That was odd, us playing a convincing game from the start really. Haven't seen that sort of performance in a while!
Apols on the Gabbidon bet, it was a long shot to be fair!
Comiserations to Brighton, but this means nothing to Palace unless we get promoted, so we have to hopefully do this again to Watford.
I was in shock when both of those goals went in
Tongue in cheek, Ant - I made a profit.
Murray's injury ..... is it serious? (Loofah hopes its just 'season ending').
Good luck on getting to Wembley.
Have you seen the bloody ticket prices .... some are cheaper than the Arthur Waite for visiting fans at your place.
A good luck to you, Dungbeetle and Amatays paps too, it could be a stormer of a game if Zaha is blasting and you guys are too. I fear you will get on behind us and cause havoc, but we did well tonight, so we might have enough.
The prices are a joke, £36 the cheapest with £98 the most expensive I believe. Annoying as I am not a season ticket holder I might be left with not the best views. Have a preference for high above a goal though. Not a big fan of side on at a football match, mainly as when I do sit there I am always too low and I can't grasp much of the game at all.
Usual routine for me for huge games like this will be much how I approached today. The excitement will only kick in a couple of hours before kick off. I really am as calm as anything up until that point. During the game today though I like to commentate every ball and what pass should have been made etc etc, and find myself pissing my mates off. Can't help it though.
I love that tension mid game even if Palace were to lose I would still, after the game, appreciate the buzz I just received and watching a tense game is sort of like playing poker and running a decent sized bluff with the adrenaline pumping. Especially after going 1-0 up and the feelings of having to hold, much like trying to get a bluff through and having to agonisingly wait for a tank fold from the oppo.
I will be at Wembley. I will be quieter than the normal fan and I feel I will just be basking in the occasion. I will really feel the tension and buzz from it and if it ends terribly I will appreciate the pain as raw and enjoy that ride as it will be devastating, but you would be appreciative of an over-productive season.
But if we win that is pure elation, which is often rare. Felt it actually when we last went up in 2004 and that feeling was only bettered by watching Robbie Keane put Ireland 1-0 up at the Stade de France. I was in the crowd that night sitting in with the French fans in green and got up and lost my shit in euphoria, seeing too, the other small scatterings of other Ireland fans in the same block. 80,000+ there that night, less than 3000 Irish I think, with the pre match noise nothing I had ever experienced. The complete quiet when we scored meant I felt I was the only one shouting, so surreal, and that will never be topped, nor taken away from me. Despite not going through to the world cup that night, that goal is up there as my favourite football experience.
That will be topped though, if Wilbraham pops up to score the winner in two weeks time in that gangly way of his, I am not sure I would be able to compute that much epic in one dose.
Rather ironically now, I am excited, and I am trying to sleep, o well!
