I was out last night and caught bits and pieces of Wade and Hankey. I wouldn't noirmally watch Darts, not a sport I have ever clicked with

Wade was a bit worse for wear. Hankey had no control of his faculties

Is this acceptable in a professional televised sport seeking advertisers?

It just perpetuates an old image of darts that isn't attractive for a casual sport fan like me.

Do darts fans care? If you'd paid money to be threre to see Hankey clowning around, would you feel let down, or not bothered?

Aftertiming alert, but I was on the 5-0 MVG last night. Did the slow reveal technique this morning and to my delight saw the result was 5-0, and now wish I had watched it too just to see Hankey pissed as a fart!!

Incredible, really, for a sport that wants to gain Olympic status!

Suspend anyone believed to be drunk.

Joke, kind of expect that soprt of stuff from Hankey, but wade should be dissappointed with himself imo..... he is supposed to be a top 5 performer in his sport and a role model etc..... not good at all

Bad night for Darts tho I wouldn't put the boot into Wade, he clearly has issues and probably shouldn't be on the Main stage at the moment.
No comparison tho compared to Hankey and his pathetic excuses do him no favours, if he was honest and said he had drank more than he should have and was on medication then he would have got more respect.
Another Player who won't be seen much of again.

Hankey was a disgrace last night and his press release today blaming a chest infection was shameful.  The modern day fan who goes to the darts probably wouldn't be too bothered though as they go mainly for a piss up, the darts is secondary.  Is Hankey turning up like that last night going to put them off going again?  I doubt it.  As long as people keep going and buying pints then Hearn isn't going to care either.

Wade's missus just tweeted to Hankey

"I hope you feel better soon Ted"

Between the Players, Sky and the PDC they ain't half trying to cover it up.
It's just a pity Bristow is in the Jungle as he's about the only one who would tell it like it is.

What's Chris Mason saying about it? He's not usually shy in speaking out.

Just that he has known Ted for years and didn't want to comment on it, says it all for me.

Reminded me of Jimmy White v Peter Fransisco in the world champs a few years ago when Jimmy knew Fransisco wanted to lose 10-1 and tried his hardest to lose another frame to screw their coup.

MVG looked like a non trier in the first leg, wonder if Hankey had bet 5-0?

Fair point as if you watch MvG's facial expressions during and just after the first Leg it's as if he's calling him out.
Having said that their is no doubt he's had a gutful.

At the risk of sounding contrary, we don't actually know anything more than we saw.

It was not nice to watch, whatever the cause.

Having a gutful gives him a convenient excuse. In the first leg he wasn't too bad until he got to 56. Then had 6 darts and didn't get a dart at a double, then he starts the eye rubbing.

was at my old mans last night who rarely if ever watches the darts

told him lets watch hankeys game as he is normally "entertaining"

after my old man getting pissed of with skys 30 minute build up about how hankey was one of the great entertainers in sport (ffs) even he was expecting something decent

after that debacle he turned to me and said

"son if that's entertainment you can keep it"
