The way Taylor was bouncing round the stage  in between sets and shadow boxing and generally annoying the scorers was extremely cringe worthy, the man seems so so slimy.

Yeah, but he's got bottle...

He's a tit in real life to, no malice in him, he's just that boring over opinionated prick in the pub you avoid. You have to admire his bottle if nothing else.

New PL Format

The ten players will face each other once over the opening nine weeks of the tournament, over the best of 12 legs, before the bottom two players in the league table are relegated following the ninth league night in Brighton.

The remaining eight players will then face each other again over the remaining five league nights before the top four progress to the Play-Offs at The O2 in London on May 16.

The McCoy’s Premier League Darts competitors are:

Phil Taylor – reigning and six-time Premier League Darts champion
Adrian Lewis – two-time World Champion
James Wade – 2009 Premier League Darts champion
Michael van Gerwen – 2012 World Grand Prix champion
Simon Whitlock – 2012 European Champion
Andy Hamilton – 2012 Premier League Darts semi-finalist
Wes Newton – 2012 European Championship finalist
Raymond van Barneveld – five-time World Champion
Gary Anderson – 2011 Premier League Darts champion
Robert Thornton – 2012 UK Open champion

The McCoy’s Premier League Darts, screened live on Sky Sports HD, will begin on Thursday February 7 at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast before travelling to Aberdeen, Bournemouth, Exeter, Nottingham, Manchester, Cardiff, Glasgow and Brighton for the first phase of the event.

The final five league nights will be held in Sheffield

Something definetly need changed as it was getting a bit stale, whether this is the best way forward then who knows.
I can't really grumble about the line up other than I would rather have seen Chisnall/Winstanley in ahead of Thornton and maybe even Newton.

I was wondering earlier who would make the PL lineup in its previous format. Would have been some big decisions to be made, they have avoided that by increasing the numbers. Top 8 plus Thornton and Anderson. Not sure anyone can feel aggrieved at being overlooked. Thornton least deserving but has won a TV tournament and that was good enough for Painter last year. I'm not a fan of the PL and not sure this format will change much but worth a try I guess. In fairness my opinion of the PL is probably clouded by the fact for the last 4 years it has either been my worst or 2nd worst tournament of the year punting wise.

Let's Play Darts.
For the second year in a row the very first match will be the only one which won't be Televised live over the whole Tournament.

To get ESPN back or to not get ESPN back. That is the question!

Dave Prins has played at the Lakeside 3 times (twice seeded) and averaged

80.22
76.86
78.24

Richie George has never played here before but given he is the son of Bobby I'm guessing he will be familiar with the venue and has played well enough this year to get himself a seeding.  Low 80s average will probably be enough to win this so I'm on.

14 players in action yesterday including some fancied runners and only one averaged over 90 (Green 91.11). This isn't going to take a lot of winning.
