have burst off form in the game.

Since the blonde bash I have been on a big losing streak, I usually have a good record in the SNG, but cant win a bean get placed or anything.

I played a bit of cash but no luck either.

I know it sounds silly but I don't know if my game has changed to what it usually was like, just read the harrington book volume 1 and started of like a house on fire but now it's all gone stale.

Please Help?

Poker is a tough ride, when the races don't go your way, you'll go on a losing streak. It doesn't mean you're playing bad.
It's impossible to tell from an individual result how you played. You can play badly and win, you can play perfectly and lose. This is why it's important to analyze your play whatever the outcome.

This is a hard thing to do, just look at the hand analysis board. Pick a random hand that someone's posted and I'll bet you any money (under a pound) that the peep who posted it lost the hand.

Losing streaks happen, and they can sometimes be long. It could turn round any day though.
When you have a few good weeks in a row, it is easy to imagine that poker is the easiest thing in the world and that this time next year we'll be millionaires Rodney.

It does loads of people in, because when they're up they spend their winnings on big real-life purchases that they might not otherwise be able to afford. In a lot of cases, they'll need the dosh in the bankroll to ride through the bad times.

Hi. It's Poppet, I'm at Ruths house so using her account.

I went through a bad patch recently and it's horrible when it happens, but you'll soon get back on track. I've watched you play and I think you play well. Hope to see you winning again very soon.

Love Poppet xx

My environment and mental state very much dictate how well or not I play. It's something I need to work on.

I've had a steady month Skip.  4 losing sessions from 34 played.

I find I play better/get luckier/win more when I'm bored and just play for the sake of it... waiting to take Exorcism (he was stuck in traffic) to the Sunday Blonde Bash tourney I picked up over $900 at 5/10 NLHE in 30 mins.  Two days ago I dedicate two hours to playing and drop $600.

If I dedicate time to playing I struggle

Maybe I'm more relaxed when I just slip on-line for a brief session.  Since Blonde: 2 losing sessions from 10.

as it happens im going through a bad patch right now, possibly the worst ive had. ive just got off the phone from john (cupcake).
he has seen me playing lately and seen some of the outdraws ive been getting lately and when im not getting outdrawn/badbeats im getting big hands and they are getting beat by slightly bigger hands.

i have also been talking to my wife about it too. because to be honest my bankroll is disappearing so it obviously affects her.
after talking to john and my wife i have decided to take a break for a while as i am low on confidence and slightly disheartened.

i thought i would play one more tournie whilst i post this. and 1st hand i sucked out some guy by hitting running queens. now im back in love with the game( well i will be if i have a good result in this tournie Wink )

good luck all.

I recommend on reading Harrington again not the whole thing but skip thru just get the knowledge to the front of your brain, when i read it 1st i cashed in 8 from 10 multis i played then after a month i went stale so i decided to read it again and suprise suprise i started to cash again.

you never know it may just give u the kick start your looking for.

Good luck.

Poker i find is very much a game of form and sometime the cards run and sometimes they don't. I think one thing to bear in mind is look at the hands you have played over those sessions did you HONESTLY make the right decisions on the crucial hands. Could you have layed a hand down, should you have bet more on the turn etc. If i am making the right decisions most of the time i take that as a consolation and a reason to be upbeat.

Analyse your play it is often the case that to be a succesful player it is a case of limiting your losses when running bad by not making poor decisions through tilt (we all get it just different forms of it). Best of luck.

I'm on a real bad patch with $30 and $20 STTs, I'm on an ROI of -1.9% over 120 sessions, having been on a 70% ROI at 60 sessions.

I've given up on them. Luckily my MTT play is fairing far better, and my overall ROI has stayed above 70%. I think I'm an MTT monkey. I had previously thought this, but my initial success at STTs gave me false hope Cheesy
